Today:
Servers grind out fresh guacamole tableside in extremely heavy stone bowls at this upscale Mexican eatery. If you aren't weighed down from gorging on the green goop, stretch your legs out with Salsa dancing every Friday night.

I believe that Adobo Grill is one of the finest and least expensive restaurants in town. The presentation and the taste of their food is beyond comparison to most other Mexican eateries in Indy. I definitely recommend it!
If you think this is good Mexican food you need to get out more.
Actually, the fresh made guacamole is very good, although served with some of the worst tortilla chips this side of Taco Bell. No actually, Taco Bells's are better. This tableside guacamole service became popular some years back in other cities I frequent, and though good, is a great way for the restaurant to inflate your dining bill. Instead of the free fresh salsa and chips you get in most Mexican places, you get to pay for overpriced avocado dip.
It's a good idea to go ahead and splurge for the guac though, because ahead of you are some of the most mediocre offerings this side of Guadalajara. Flavorless chicken and pork are drizzled with sauces that are actually OK, but the accompanying chewy tortillas should have been discarded in 1998.
One last topic--Margaritas. I pride myself on making a darn good Margarita. The secret is to use real citrus, so that you get that perfect marriage of tartness and sweetness. Only real, fresh squeezed lemon or lime juice will do. The Adobo grill pushes their fantastic Margaritas. Although they go for the show of hand blending and shaking, the result is again, like the rest of the restaurant, very uninspiring. I would have stuck with water, but the servers never once refilled my water glass.
the food is pretty good and the decor is great. But i cant justify spending what i did based on that. A bit pricey for a new comer and one based in a strip mall.
The food is okay but we love to go for Guacamole and Margaritas. They have those two items down!
I agree with LKH75. This place has their guacamole and margaritas down to perfection. If you enjoy guacamole made fresh at your table - then this is the place. If you enjoy margaritas made in the classic way - this is the place. Also, if you enjoy good tequila and are at all interested in sampling various tequilas and learning about the differences in tequilas (quality, taste, etc) - then this is the place. Also, they were having a 1/2 price happy hour on appetizers and select drinks in the bar during the Mon-Fri week around 4:30 - 6:00pm, but I'm not sure if this is still happening.
I normally don't like margaritas, but Adobo's are so good--try the one w/ pomegranate juice. Guac and entrees are fab, too.
We ate here once. The prices were absurd, the food tasteless and the service uncaring. We don't eat guac or drink margaritas, so I guess it's not the place for us! The decor was nice.
Best guac!
This place has the best guacamole I've ever tasted! And the margaritas are great too. The food was pretty good, but between the guac and magaritas, I can't remember much else...
