Today:
One of Naptown's newest independent pizza purveyor plates premium pies in a small, brightly colored shop on Pennsylvania St. It's a small place with a small staff, so after you've been there a couple of times, it's all friendly, familiar faces.
Well I work right beside this little gem of a pizza parlor. So I frequent it for lunch with friends or co-workers. Datsa's pizza is very fresh and always nice and warm. The bread sticks are nice and fluffy all the time and steamy hot. The place is pretty cheap and you cant really beat the location. You can walk right over the library after you get done filling up or the park. I would recommend this place to anyone. The seating is not that bad, not alot, but its cozy and they have a TV playing news or whatever so its got a nice atmosphere.
We went to Datsa after living downtown for years, and being told by a neighbor how good it was. We're avid pizza fans, and we love our Bazbeaux, but Datsa was great. Simple and tasty toppings - we had a 16" with cajun chicken & bacon on one side, and bbq sauce, chicken & banana peppers on the other. It was delish...the crust is painted in garlic butter making it totally tasty. We sat outside, and enjoyed the staff, met the owner and felt really welcomed. We also downloaded a cartoon on the Indy coupons site for $2 off a 16"! Can't wait to go back!
Good Pie, a Great Alternative
Datsa's a nice place to try. I used to live right by it so I'd hit it up once in a while. The place is very small and cozy.
The ingredients are fresh and tasty and I liked the crust. Bazbeaux seems to rule the Indy pizza scene, but you should give this place a whirl next time your in the mood. It's definately a cut above the normal chains like Pizza Hut and Domino's.
Go independent little restaurants!
