Today:
Whether in the quaint dining room or the weathered back patio, Cafe Luxor feels more like a Mediterranean market shop than an American cafe, and that suits us just fine.
This is the best place in the "new" art district. The owner Faten has been a part of the Indpls restaurant scene for quite some time, as she was a belly dancer for years... I hear she is an acclaimed musician too. This is the best place to eat a buffet in the downtown area. Love them!
This is just a fantastic restaurant. Faten, our server & business owner, was a true host, as if we were guests in her home. My wife and I decided to order exclusively Egyptian fare (the bread and butter of this establishement) and were not dissapointed. We will certainly be back. Indianapolis has some great restuarants, and I have been to many of them, but all in all, with the welcoming environment, first hand knowledge of the cuisine, top notch service, high quality of food, and reasonable prices, in terms of our city's "ethnic" cuisine, this place is certainly among the top 3 in Indianapolis.
Good lunch
Went there for the lunch buffett - good selection, excellent food, little salty on the price though - around $12 with a drink and tip.
