One should expect a museum-enclosed eatery to be both elegant and artful. Puck's is decidedly manicured and minimalist. Super-high ceilings and tables topped with crisp white linens line a long glass wall in front of the IMA's fountain.
We attended the Roman Art from the Louvre exhibit and then had dinner at Pucks. I would highly recommend having reservations as this was a Friday night and the restaurant was full. The atmosphere is very sophisticated and we liked the fountain outside. We agreed to return during the summer months when it will still be light enough to see and enjoy the fountain. We had tuna tar tare and caesar salad with white anchovies as appetizers. Both were very good. Our entrees of N.Y. strip steak with peppercorn sauce and crushed tuscan potatoes as well as the seafood special of red trout almondine on a bed of summer barley were excellent. It was not a cheap date, but well worth the money.
