Today:
Vito's is a Greenwood legend. A large cast of regulars shuffle in and out, chatting up the servers and ordering without the menu in a casual, unpretentious dining room.
VIto's is a great place to dine. It is small, so you will have to wait if you go in when it is busy. If so walk next door to Schneider's for a nice before dinner cocktail!
The stuffed mushrooms, pizza, lasagna, and tortellini with marinara and alfredo sauce are just a few of my favs!
The only downfall for me is that they do not have Cannolis for dessert...
The best marinara in Indy
I am very picky about when it comes to food and with Italian it's all about the sauce. Vito's is my favorite Italian restaurant south/west of Indy. A bit of a drive, but worth it. The portions are large and great for leftovers. The bread that comes with your meal reminds me of Fazoli's breadsticks (not necessarily a bad thing-but they could go a bit lighter on the garlic/butter sauce.) Get there early on Friday and Saturday, or plan to wait. The only negative: if you have really long legs, the tables are a bit on the small side.
