Today:
Traditional Thai decor arranged with elegant flair. Middling in size, this Southeast Asian eatery never feels vacant or gets too loud - except during the vegetarian buffet on the first Thursday night of each month. Thai Taste gets the plant-eaters goin' wild.
I brought my family here to celebrate my dad's birthday last January because I had heard so many wonderful things about it. We were pleased beyond our expectations. There were four adults and we each had a different entree. There was plenty to share with everyone! Even my four-year old nephew found something tasty! Skewered chicken...you can't go wrong! And green tea ice cream for dessert - simply wonderful!
We usually head to Sawasdee or Jasmine Thai when we are in a Thai mood but, due to extenuating circumstances detailed on our blog http://worthyourattention1.blogspot.com/, we got carry-out from here and it was great. Anyone who gives us free cookies permanently endears themselves in our hearts. We can't wait to check out that Thursday evening buffet.
The space inside this little restaurant may be small, but they make their food with big, big love. My husband and I ate here after a hectic and tiring day at work; it was a great place to unwind and enjoy delicious food. We've also been to their buffets, which are bountiful but still carefully prepared. While service was initially a bit slow, the waitress apologized graciously for the delay in taking our order. But the wait was definitely worth it!
Best bets: The different-from-the-norm and delicious crab Rangoon is a great appetizer, comprised of four darling little purses full of a filling that tasted mustard-y and delightful. Their massaman curry is amazing, with the most delicate blend of coconut milk, peanut, and spices (cardamom? bay? tamarind?) that I've ever sampled. The noodle dishes are good as well.
Buffets are on Thursday nights, with the first Thursday of each month reserved for vegetarian dishes. The buffet is a great chance to sample Thai Taste's excellent food and stumble on a new favorite dish.
but it's too crowded for the veggie buffet on the first Thursday of the month. Our group had to split up so we could have seats. They really need to expand into the empty space to one side or the other. I felt like a sardine and I don't care for that no matter if the food is good.
Hidden Gem!
This is some of the best Thai around. This homey little eatery always has the owner overseeing things. TT offers mild to spicey Thai dishes with the traditional pork, chicken, beef and vegetable selections. The spring rolls rock! They have a buffet on Thursday nights.
