Today:
Settle in under vaulted ceilings and dark hardwoods. An all-American menu is turned out into a well-appointed dining room similar to the original Brownsburg location.
I enjoyed the dipping sauce with the complimentary bread. It was good, with a kick of tobasco. I had the Rueben sandwich, pretty hard to screw that up. It was okay, kind of dry. They had a pretty good beer selection, and a really large wine list.
After I had three or four different beers the waitress said "I should have asked if you wanted a sampler selection of our beers" I asked "do you do that?" "no" she replied, and that pretty much sums up the meal.
It seems like they're still feeling thier way along
better than Charbonno's
Seriously is it to much to ask for great service???
I don't know what it is, possibly just this chain because I had a similar experience at a sister restaurant. But service kind of sucks!
The food is good, and the menu well thought out. Good house salad with mixed greens, basil marinated tomatoes, cheddar, mozzarella, sprouts, thin red onions, and sunflower seeds. To bad the dressing wasn't homemade, it would have made it incredible!
The bread and tomato w/ a hint of jalapeno dipping oil was great. But it was that really tasty bread that expands in your stomach after you eat it all because you are starving kind of bread...
Needless to say by the time I got my (uncreative) Barbeque Chicken Pizza I was overly full! I love California Pizza Kitchen Barbeque Chicken Pizza it has BBQ, Chix, Gouda, Mozzarella and Red Onion, oh and the best part is you can find the same thing at Stone Creek!!!
The service part that irks me:
I always ask a server what they recommend (they do work there and see the food and hopefully eat the food... so who better to ask right?) so my server said everything. OK great. everything is great. So I said, " what appetizers?" She said, "the spinach dip." I said, "oh, okay thanks." I noticed it had bleu cheese, I don't usually do bleu cheese so I continued to read the menu.. next think I know I get a spinach dip, which as she set it down I let her know we didn't order.. no big deal mistakes happen.
The BF had a coke, okay maybe 2, but we had to ask for a refill every time and that was when he was completely out.
They say imitation is the sincerest form or flattery, I guess this motto is working for Stone Creek.
