Lots of Brews

Lots of beer selection. This restaurant has been here for a very long time, but if you don't know it's there, you will drive right past without even noticing it.

Hidden Secret!

Shallos is a family favorite. We came upon it one day after shopping at Old Time Pottery. My dad, a business traveler, claims that Shallo's has the best steak he's ever tasted. The atmosphere is GREAT -- you won't believe it is in a strip mall. There's a lot to take in and admire - and lots of Indianapolis history on each wall. Plus, you have to admire the beer bottles that border the entire extablishment. If you go, be sure to get the "zero-calorie" basket of homemade potato chips!! And a half-order is plenty for two people!

Don't Judge it by Location

Hidden in an old strip mall just north of Greenwood, Shallo's is a true original. They brag that they have the largest beer selection in the Midwest. I haven't been to any place in Indy that even comes close in selection. Make sure to ask your waitress what is new, not all are listed on the menu. The food is great. It's fresh and very "Indiana" (tenderloin anyone?).

The atmosphere is unique. Old relics and beer bottles decorate the walls, as well as plaques of people who have joined the "beer club." Definitely a must visit on the south side.

Think of Cheers

Shallos is great. The orignal looking bar is a great atmosphere and the food is great. I also love that it is nonsmoking. The owner will come down to the bar and talk with people. Very friendly enviroment. I reccommend it for having dinner or just getting together with some friends for s drink (or several drinks).

long beer list

Anytime I'm on the Southside I have to stop in at Shallo's. Like everyone has noted the beer list is really large. The food is good especially the homeade potato chips. Try the "Hot Brown" it sounds disgusting, but it's actually pretty good. The name cracks me up every time.
