Don't lean too close to the saganaki (fried goat cheese) when your server sets it aflame at your table. Santorini's popularity has exploded like a lit match to cooking oil, and it has more than tripled its capacity in recent years. Seafood plays a more prominent role here than at many so-called Mediterranean restaurants. All dinners include a salad and sides of green beans, rice pilaf and potatoes.
It's not my MOST favorite Greek restaurant, but it very nearly is. It's a very nice restaurant and the food is really great. The eggplant appetizer is wonderful and I love the tomato balls. The garlic soup is to die for. Since I can't get to the Trojan Horse in Bloomington this is a wonderful substitute!
Disappointing, and I hate to say it. The food was "okay" but not the best tasting in Indy, for sure. I really would like to find another spot to frequent in Fountain Square, but just didn't really care for Santorinis. If the portions were not so huge, I don't think this place would be as popular. There is better mediterranian food at three other nearby places. The dancer here was disgusting, I still have nightmares. She is bad, and very un-attractive. She must be the owners' mother or something. Oh, and the man who owns this spot is a jerk, but everyone else was really nice.
I ate at Santorni last night for around the 8th time in my life. It was an entertaining and tasty experience. I love the black spots on the ceiling from the saganaki.
They have some of the best baba ganoush I've ever had, it's very creamy with a nice lemony zing. After that I had the fish skewer special, it was served with rice (which was bland), fassolakia (green beans in a tomato sauce, which was wonderful), and the always spectacular potatoes.
The main part of the dish consisted of salmon, grouper, mahi mahi, shrimp, mushrooms, and tomatoes. The salmon, grouper, mushrooms and tomatoes were all very good and juicy. I could pass on the mahi mahi and shrimp. The kabob was cooked with some sort of wonderful peppery sauce. It was served without the kabob stick, which was nice, I hate de-skewering my food.
For dessert I shared the chocolate truffle cake with a glass of mavrodaphne. The cake was good and the wine was divine. I'm a big port fan and had never actually had andy mavrodaphne, I'll be having more. It was luscious, thick, and fairly complex. Nice strong earthy chocolate notes, much like a tawny port.
I enjoyed the meal. The portions there are ridiculously huge. Two people can share one plate easily, they charge a $5 fee for the honor of having two plates and two dinner salads. The belly dancers are always fun and our server was exceptional. My servers have always been excellent there.

The best food in the world!
Santorini's is my favorite restaurant of all time. It's full of charm and personality. The owners are so warm and friendly. I live in Texas but I head for Santorini within my first day being in Indy. The food is TO DIE FOR. The aveglemeno soup is what I consider comfort food. It is so delicious, I feel a warmth come over me with the first spoonful. It's served with these small garlic toasts. The appetizers are so delicious it's indescribable. Full of flavor! And some are fun to get, as they flame the cheese and yell OPA. Some people yell "Oprah" which is always funny. When I bring newbies to Santorini we get a sample platter of appetizers, even though I know we'll be so stuffed, but they always say "OMG this is the best food I've ever eaten!" The pita bread melts on your tongue, it is so buttery. The steak souvlaki is so tender, and the fish kabobs are full of flavor. The side dishes are always hot and flavorfull. I just can't shut up about this place! You'll love it.
