Today:
Zeus' beard! Sam's Gyros feels like an American diner interpreted by a Middle Eastern short-order cook. No-frills tables and booths, arranged simply, and a smattering of hookahs and art establish a casual atmosphere.
Everyone should go here - I'm serious beyond all other forms. if you don't try this place you will have an unfulfilled portion of your life. The shwarma is great especially with feta, gyros kick ass, falafel - amazing. its all just SO GOOD!
The crew that work here are great too - cracking wise with you all the time its awesome.
Five Star Gyro's for Attitude
The staff at Sam's is smarmy and I love it. There's no better place to go with a construction buddy and shoot the sh*t while the staff joins in. The spicey Gyro really is without peer as far as I can tell.
It's around a four star joint based on the location and food, but the staff kick it up a notch for an experience like no other. Hmm, the food.
I mean a Kronos loaf is a Kronos loaf. It's hard to mess up, most places are about the same. Some better for their presentation and sides, some less so. Sam's is small and quaint, but it's one of the better ones.
Their other stuff is good too, the falafel is wonderful and the hummus is fine and dandy, not the greatest, but good. Now that I think about it I'm not sure there's really a place to get better falafel on a pita. Huh.
Sam's IS very much like an American dinner gone Greek. You can see into the kitchen and don't go expecting a quiet dignified meal. You can expect great food and good company.
