Best Bread Stix

By far Hot Box Pizza's, (formerly Pizza Express), Bread Sticks are the Best around town. The Cheese Sauce is killer, make sure you get an extra one.

Damn skippy.

The breadsticks are the best thing to hit Indy since Noble Roman's halcyon days of the late 1980s.

As far as consistency, I have eaten the pizza in two cities from four locations under two logos over the span of five years and it's been almost identical every time.

Breadstick Appreciation Day is fast approaching Festivus as the most important day on my annual calendar.

inconsistency plagues hot box

From the changover in name (pizza express - Hot box) to the varying quality of pies I have received, I have to say that Hot Box is just OK, I have ordered the Big Ten for over 3 years now and RARELY do they get both the stix and the pizza right. For the real deal breadsticks, go to Noble Romans in Chapel Hill they still do it like it's 1988!

Telepathy

Mr. Guru, you must have been reading my mind. I had, what I thought was a brilliant idea to get input on the best cheese and bread combo in town (after all, that is my favorite meal). Hotbox is my winner! And, if you are going to pound down an entire sack-o-sticks, I agree, an extra cheese sauce is needed.
I haven't ordered pizza from Hotbox since college, but didn't the Big Ten Bargain used to be closer to $10??? Maybe I'm making that up.

Free Pizza Mailbox

I found a coupon/business card for a free pizza from hot box (awesome stoner reference) in my mailbox earlier this week.. that's all.

Hot Box Pizza

hotbox is good. Plus, I got an email for a free order of breadstix from there on Thursday. Apparently it's breadstick appreciation day.

Avoid HOT BOX PIZZA like the plague

HOT BOX PIZZA in Broad Ripple: I tried it twice, both with horrible results. I went in the first time for simple breadsticks (on their menu sign it boasts something like "the best breadsticks in the world..."). The employee pulled them out of a friggin' warmer for god's sake! They were stale, and completely tasteless. I thought I'd give them a second shot, however, and order a small pepperonin pizza... oh my friggin' god! It was horrible... they use the cheapest ingredients, and it was easily the worst pizza that I've had in Indy. Whoever owns this place: you should be ashamed of yourself for ripping people off.

right on

your so right dude. This place totally sucks. I was even drunk when I ate there, and it still tasted like crap. I give it 1 star out of 5.

Pretty good

I had a free pizza coupon for Hot Box, so my wife and I headed to the one downtown near IUPUI. We got a pepperoni pizza and it was decent...not the best pizza in the world, but good, hot, and cheap. The breadsticks, however, I am a big fan of. They're very similar to Noble Roman's breadsticks only saltier. They're the kind I like...dry, salty, and not at all greasy. The cheese sauce is good also...a little spicy...again, reminding me of Noble Romans.

The young lady who took our order at the counter was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. The restaurant was separated into two dining areas, and it looks like a lot of IUPUI students were hanging out in the other half...I'm sure this is popular college food. I thought it was kind of funny that this strip mall area has five different pizza places to choose from and all five were packed.

ok but not great

Its got some ok breadsticks ill give them that, but as far as pizza goes, if i want sasauge i want sausage, not little itty bitty pieces that just make it a greese pile, and it is always very inconsistent as to quality. I would try again, but each time it makes me more depressed. I used to get it all the time when it was pizza express, but now its just not the same :(

Love those breadsticks!!!

I am in the broadripple area quite a bit and do look for places to eat that are not the traditional chain resteraunts and found Hot box to be a great place to go. The staff has always been in a good to great mood every time I have gone in there. One of my friends or I would crack a joke, and they will really laugh and not just look at you like you just pulled grandma out of your trunk.

The food is good, and sereved quickly as compared to other chain pizza places. The breadsticks are wonderful and the cheese and pizza sauce work well with it. I do enjoy the multicolored cups you are given. In my living solo bachelor days, they made great part of my China collection, and I know I am not the only one.
