Old Spaghetti Factory

Groups gather 'round plates of pasta delivered to dimly lit tables and booths, surrounded by hardwoods and decorative iron and colored glass. This old pasta plant predates modern delineations like "rustic" or "Tuscan" - it's all just Italian here.

Yummy Water Down Everything!

This is yet again another place that Indy has for the people that don't really go out too often and are going out on a date so they pick this place because it is downtown looks good and pretty cheap. If this is what you are looking for you will love it!

If you are looking at the food, it's like what you use to get in high school at lunch. All it is missing is the lady with the hair net! But I have never been to the kitchen...so they might have one! If you want Itln. food that is really good...try a different place!

Agree with Broadway

Skip this place. Unless your are looking for cheap food that you could have your child cook better at home. How this place has lasted this long is beyond me. I thought Buca coming in would be this places demise. That said, if you want Italian, and have a large party, go to Buca. Want nicer Italian, go to Bertolini's.

Yummy

I love this place - I always eat here when ever I go down town. I get the Roasted Chicken and spaghetti (with no sauce but lots of cheese and butter!) there vinaigrette salad dressing is so good I just want to lick the plate, but my sister says that is rude. The chicken it always so moist and tender. Top it off with an Italian smooth thing (forget what it is called) and dinner is wonderful. But I am not big on Italian but I will eat here any time. Man now have mad myself hungry.

Not good with a crowd

The food is nothing to brag about, but it's a quick place to eat for two. However, whenever I've been part of a crowd, say 8 or more for various functions, the wait stuff seems flummoxed. Orders don't get filled and the final bill oftentimes is a guess. My advice: Keep it simple (such as the food) and don't confuse the staff by arriving en masse.

An Indy Institution of Italian

This place gets an extra star not based on the food, but based on the ambience. If it weren't for its whacky ambience it'd get 3 stars. Ambience? It's got that in oodles. From the dinner car in the middle of the place to the eery underground blue bathrooms it's an experience.

It's not really fine dining don't be confused, it's not bad dining either. It's squarely in the middle. The crab ravioli is very good and the multi-course dinner entrees are nice. It's always good to finish up with some spumoni.

It makes me smile and I enjoy going there, the bar upstairs ain't half bad, it's got more style than substance.. It does do it's job and make those 45minute waits to get seated much more bearable. The big carafe of the house red is affordable and fine.

It's interesting :-)

On par with Fazolis

Give me real italian food: Iaria's, Milano Inn or Mama Carollas

Benamindy said it best

Its a cool place, looks nice, atmosphere is cool, but you don't go to a place cause the atmosphere is nice, you go cause you wanna eat good food. I would seriously rate the food pretty bad, don't try to kid cultured people who have eaten actual good food and knows what good food taste like. Its still a nice place if you are expecting it, but I would at least try it once so you know.

Nostalgic but fresh

Beautiful restaurant. Wonderful garlic bread. Pass the pasta with extra Parmesan cheese! Located right across from Conseco, nice place to stop before the game or a night around the town. Walking distance to Circle Center Mall, Monument Circle, RCA Dome/Lucas Oil Stadium, or your favorite haunt!

So many other good local choices

Benjamindy is dead on. Leave this one to the tourists people! We have so many unique local options, the ones Benjamindy mentioned plus Capri, Amalfi, Salvatore's, and don't forget Enrico's! It is kitschy quaint at Enrico's and they give you so much good food! (it is behind that big new LA Fitness that you can see from Keystone Ave across from Glendale Mall)
