Today:
The Grand Dame of cafeterias, MCL serves slabs of carved meats, sweet rolls and all your favorite sides in a homey atmosphere. Its pan-fried chicken is almost as good as grandma's, but what really makes the trip are the desserts like the peach cobbler.
The only acceptable answer as far as I'm concerned is "We had the munchies, and HAD to have jello...."
M-edi C-are L-ounge
s.h.
Yes, she's old, she smells funny, she charges you an arm and a leg, and most of the people who visit her move really, really slowly, but the old gal can still cook a mean supper.
To this day if I were able to pick my last meal, it would be fried chicken, mashed potatoes (no gravy), green beans and a hunk of pumpkin pie from MCL.
Pay per plate
I haven't been here in a long time but I remember having to pay a different price for each food item...in the day of fast food, ma and pa family-style restaurants and buffets, what's make their meals worth every penny??
