Didn't like it

Did not care for this place at all. I'm not a fan of stringy cheese with my chips. I hate fighting with the cheese. We went during an off time too, so maybe the wait staff was just busy talking to their buddies or something but we should've had better service since we were only one of two tables in the place. I just wasn't impressed. It always looks like a fun place to go hang out in the summer when you drive by and see everyone sitting outside. But maybe just for a big margarita. I'm not a fan of the food.

I'd never actually been INSIDE this restaurant

... turns out it looks VERY dated inside. It's a summertime favorite because of the huge deck, buckets of beer and more. But when I went last night, it was almost depressing. Maybe three other tables there while we were, on the restaurant AND bar side.

However, that said, it was a pretty decent meal. I mean, it's Americanized Mexican. A very limited menu of tacos (hard or soft shell), enchiladas, etc. with chicken, ground beef or seafood. But it hit the spot. It wasn't off the charts, but the food was good, the chips and salsa were delicious (I'm kind of addicted to that salsa now . . . really garlicky, which I like), and our server (who may have been the only person working aside from a cook or two?) was very attentive and kind.

It's a shame the attendance was so sparse. But it was cold and wet, so maybe people just weren't out. Or maybe La Piedad has put a big cramp in their business. Don't know, but it's so close to my house that I wish I'd gone again sooner.

Small but decent menu

I do like the food here - its very straightforward. The interior needs work, mostly the floors that bend when walked upon. Service is admittedly lame even when nobody else is in the place.

But like I said, the foods good.

Bad Mexican Food

I gave it a try, my instincts told me not to. It was bad, the chicken was gross and the food was just bad. I've eaten at probably 40 Mexican restaurants in Indiana, and this is in the bottom tier. It's a great location and could be an awesome place to eat if they would just get some decent Mexican food in there.
