Today:
Tip the scales with Jack's net gains. The Northside diners' favorite illustrated icon knows as much about seafood as he does about red meat. Reserve a table indoors or out and get schooled in the art of preparing fish.
When I first started eating sushi, I thought Kona Jack's was great. I still like them for their large seafood menu and good service, but have moved on in my sushi tastes. The kicker came last year when we dined there with friends ... after having a few sushi rolls together, they advised us there was better sushi with lower prices and larger servings just up the road. We literally paid our tab at Kona's, went up to Maneki Neko in Westfield (146th and US 31, next to Old County Buffet), and finished our sushi experience there. I hate to say it, but we haven't been back to Kona's since then.
Gotta Try The Hoosier Roll
The Hoosier Roll! Spicy shrimp tempura roll with some slightly seared beef. Not too shabby. If this is what Being from Indiana tastes like, then I'm proud to be a Hoosier!
Not that great of an atmosphere. Slightly cheesy. Sushi didn't dissappoint.
