Today:
This adult-favoring but kid-welcoming bar and grill is decked out with wood paneling, glass and metal work that whisper hints of art nouveau.
I went to this restaurant for the first time last week. We chose it becuase it was smoke-free, due to one of our friends being pregnant. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was very good. I had the southwest chicken wrap which was great and very reasonably priced. Some of the entrees seemed a little pricey, but the sandwiches all seemed to be a good deal. Others at my table ordered the fish tacos and some kind of roast beef sandwich. All meals left us quite full. The staff was friendly, and adequatley attentive. My only complaint concerns the beer selection. Not that many gret beers on tap. I know it's not a bar, but it would have been nice to have more choices. They seem to run regular specials, so that's nice. Overall, I would go back again.
What no Houli Reviews!?!
Houlihan's has been a downtown favorite of mine for a long time. Their bar makes good drinks (meaning not cheap with good liquor and decent sizes). Their menu is nice there's a big variety there for all sorts of tastes. Most of it good to excellent.
The mini desserts are a great novelty and actually just right size and price wise. The atmosphere and decor is dark and masculine, it's fairly cozy. I love the big white horse painting.
I've never figured out what's up with the shredded lettuce on the burgers, I'm not a fan, but the Houli Burger is very good.
It normally costs me around $25 a person to dine here, sometimes it seems just right other times it feels a hair steep for what you get. That's my one an only beef with the place.
