Today:
Good sushi, stellar presentation and the understated Japanese-themed decor will maki-you want to come back again.
This is my favorite sushi venue in Indianapolis. They have a wide selection of traditional rolls and a varying menu of chef specialties. The presentation is great and the portions are generous. You get soup and salad with your sushi. They also have a great selection of both Japanese and Korean food. Their kimchi is definitely worth a try, it is spicy and delicious.
This place would get an additional star if it were remotely close to me.
I checked this place out at lunch today with my colleagues to see if the reviews were true.
These reviews were correct. We tried the Yummy Yummy roll, Charlie Brown roll, Mexican Roll, Big Mouth Roll, and Snow Mountain Roll. My favorite was definitely the Snow Mountain. It was like a bit of Heaven
spicy crab and tuna wrapped in soybean paper and deep fried. All the sauces in it set it off to make it gooey and delicious.
While we were there though, there was only one person creating the meals for everyone, so the wait was pretty long. Other than that it was wonderful. Open one on the northside!
Happy Sushi!
Seeing as how I work in the wastelands known as the Eastside.. (umm, just kidding. Kind of) there aren't a whole lot of options for a good lunch. But I have a couple of favs and Hisago is one of them. Most all of the lunch specials are under $10, the only exceptions being a couple of the sushi offerings. And while the specials are all good, it's the sushi that keeps me coming back. The fish is always fresh and the service is friendly. When sitting at the bar, the sushi chef is obviously happy in his environment. Wow, I could go for some unagi and spicy scallop right now.
I will have to come for dinner at some point as they feature karaoke at night.. and I just happen to love karaoke! I'll smoke anybody at Brown Eyed Girl. Anybody been here at night?
