Working stiffs loosen up at lunch and make room for neighbors at night when there are gyro-filled bellies at the tables and gyrating bellies weaving between them. Opa!
I love this place it is fun and great to visit when you are going downtown for an event. The only thing I do not like is the music is played a little to loud making the sound system distort. I try to go before the music plays on weekends. I never really like the belly dancers. However I love the food and I can tolerate the music if I don't sit under the speakers or if they turn them down a little. Try a combo platter and some cyprus wine.
I don't care what other say about what's best. (Didn't Olive Garden top the list in this city??).
This is the best independent family run restaurant for the value, and the best time you will have seeing dancing while dinning/drinking.
Saganaki (spelling error?) and the cheese filo pies are to die for.
My fiancé is Greek and we just moved to the Indianapolis area from Texas. We are always on the hunt for a new favorite Greek Restaurant and we have found it!! The service was very pleasant, the portions were huge and the food was up to par with that of his mother's home cooking. FABULOUS! I can not recommend the Greek Island's Restaurant enough!!
I am acquainted with the family that owns/operates this restaurant so I am completely biased in my opinion so I will say this: If Santorini's is too busy and you don't want to drive to Acropolis, you should have been here anyway. And that is saying something because I love both of those restaurants too!
