Today:
High atop the Hyatt Regency, diners take in a panoramic view of the city from 24 floors up. Indiana duck is an Eagle's Nest specialty on a mostly conservative menu that offers steaks, stuffed chicken and a vegetarian plate built around couscous.
This place is extremely over rated. Took forever to get some service on a crowdless Tuesday night. What a bomb, Food came out wrong and average at best. Portion sizes sucked for the high price. Place definitely needs a to start over. Took my man out for his Birthday, what a surprise... Maybe they should rotate in a square instead of a circle.
So if you go, go on a clear day. And maybe just go for dessert because the food isn't anything special. I had to laugh because every side dish was asparagus. What the hell is the deal with the asparagus??? They are sitting on a gold mine up there and that's all they can do with the menu? Come on!!! Rework that sucker and make it shine! It should be the top place to eat in Indy.
3 strikes .. off the list
My wife and I choose the Eagles Nest to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, as I had been told it was the most romantic place in Indy. First of parking sucked to pay $16 to valet park is crazy! Second, view isn't that impressive until it gets dark, sure seeing the new stadium under construction is cool but seeing smoldering smoke stacks kind of takes away from the atmosphere. Third the waiter apparently put in the wrong order for my main course, and rather than offering to re-cook my wife's he offers to "keep it warm" while they prepare mine. Needless to say neither my wife, nor I got to enjoy our meal. I will state that the manager did come over and apologize and offer to "buy me a drink" (but since I do not drink, I didn't think that was much of an offer)
The food was mediocre at best; I think the salad and bread were the best part of the meal.
The only positive on the evening was that I was celebrating the first of many happy years of marriage with my beautiful wife!
BTW 3 strikes Eagles Nest... you are off the list of places my wife and I will be spending our money!
