Today:
Wine bar, bar bar...fine dining. Let's just say the name isn't a coincidence. The weathered hardwoods, leaded windows and rich hues possess an old-world charm that enhances the dining experience.
The atmosphere is very nice, possibly romantic? The check at the end of the night is killer.
Above average food and excellent wine for my taste. (I'm no connoisseur.)
The Corner Wine Bar is a small establishment, but you can typically get a table. They have few menu choices (which I believe are rotates), but every bit of it is delicious and has a unique flavor that you won't find in any other Indianapolis restaurant. Even the carrots stand out in my memories! It's such a treat to find a place that this quaint!
I've been visiting the Corner Wine Bar for years and I've never left unsatisfied. Be sure to check out the wine tastings downstairs!
Very quaint and romantic spot for dinner or just drinks. The menu is contantly changing and therefore somewhat susceptible to off nights. Most of the time, it's great though. Sitting outside in Spring or Fall and people watching is the best. After dinner you can check out the Wellington which is connected to the Corner Wine Bar.
I love this place, its small quiet and sophisticated. The wine menu is very diverse and excellent. Theres a dart board in the basement and the staff is very friendly. I give this place five out of five karate chops! Haaayah!
I proposed to my wife here in 1987. I have since been back many times for romantic dinners, offbeat business dinners and just to have some cheese and wine. I recommend this place to all as a place to get good food, good wine and good service. All in a location that can be romantic, charming, private or public all at the same time.
