Today:
Under the same ownership as Paragon Family Restaurant, Apple Tree offers downhome cookin' in a relaxed family atmosphere.
I agree, this small place does have some of the best food in Indy! The server, Roxann is AWESOME! Ask for her! I now make regular visits and highly suggest this to others!
Apple Tree is in a building once occupied by Smiley's. The atmosphire reminds me of a Mann's Grille with windows. The wait staff are quick and friendly, and the food is wonderFULL. Try the Philly Chicken Sammy with homemade soup. This is a great place for lunch/dinner with friends but not for a first date.
My grandparents live next to this place. It's sister restaurants are "The Elegance" and "The Paragon".
The food is big and simple. Don't confuse that with bad. The gyro's are great, they come with big chunks of cubed feta (they don't bother to crumble that stuff). My grandpa loves the cabbage soup, I think they serve it on Wednesdays. The fish is actually half decent and the beer battered cod is a step above most diner fare.
They've got a dessert carousel that normally has good napoleon's and eclairs from a local bakery.
The owners are incredibly nice and know my family by name.

You would never guess that this small place has some of the best food in Indy!! My friend ordered the Gyro and it was the best I have ever tasted!!
