Great food at Acropolis

My wife and I frequently get the Acropolis Sampler Platter, it is enough to feed three people with leftovers, and there will still be food to take home. The service has been vert attentive, and yes you will see the owner on the floor checking everything. Always a wonderful time.

Always Friendly - Large Helpings!

This is a great little family-owned Greek restaurant on the south side. The service is quick, the food is delicious - and you might even be entertained by a belly dancer making her rounds. There's always the comfort in knowing you will see the same people working there each time you visit, too!

Acropolis--rhymes with Yummy

We had driven by this restaurant for nearly 2 years, each time saying "we should try that sometime." We finally tried it, and we ARE GLAD WE DID. While we are lovers of Greek food, the options on the south side are severely limited. Acropolis had everything we expected, and more. We found the wait staff to be very friendly, and the owner to be incredibly sweet and accommodating. We were a little worried that we were getting a later start on the dinner that night (around 8:00pm), but the restaurant was still quite busy. What amazed me about this establishment, is that even with a crowd, it felt very "homey" and comforting. While Acropolis is one of the pricier options on the Southside (as most Greek restaurants tend to be), you truly get the quality associated with the higher price. We started off the meal with Saganaki--because my boyfriend had never had the experience of cheese being flamed at the table. This was followed by a Greek salad course, which was outstanding--the spice and flavorings in the dressing were suburb and the ingredients all fresh. For entrées, we went with the old standard of gyros platters--which were also wonderful. The gyros came out on a large piece of pita bread, piled high with gyro meet, and topped with onions, tomatoes, and VERY generous helping of tzatziki (in fact, it was such a generous helping that next time I would probably order light tzatziki, or the tzatziki on the side). The platters included the before mentioned Greek salad, Greek style green beans, and Greek potatoes. We left the restaurant stuffed to the gills, extremely satisfied, and vowing to return. I would highly recommend this establishment to any of my Greek-food-lovin' family and friends.

Not bad

This restaurant was very good. I enjoyed my time there and would highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys good Mediterranean food.

Tons of food!

I was excited to see that there was food on the menu that I would like (I am a picky eater) and it came in volume too. Expect to spend some time there.

Ugh

I saw all the glowing reviews, and I had to put my 2cents in. First of all this place is WAY over priced, the food is tasteless and the portion size is laughable. My wife and I went, spent $50, then headed out to another restaurant to eat. I feel as if I paid $50 to eat lettuce and watch a belly dancer.
