Today:
Eat a little if you want to, you've got a lot of options. The low-impact decor hints at China, but the food does most of the work in that department.
Sorry, but even my 8 year old daughter says that when we drive by!!! I'm not kidding. I thought it was really bad...didn't seem clean to me, either.
I have been once. Don't plan on going back!
The first time we tried it, we thought the food quality was below average for oriental buffets and the waitress was unfriendly. Don't plan on going back.
Unfortunately, this is the best Chinese food on the southside (from what I have seen). I have been there a lot and have never had trouble with the quality of food. The service was good and, even though we have gone there late around closing time, the chefs asked us to tell them if we needed refills of anything. We've gone around new years and they gave us free calendars. :) Bathroom was dirty, although, which makes me wonder.
It's a better deal at lunch and they have a coupon on http://www.coupons4indy.com .
I don't eat much of their regular Chinese food in a pan. Instead, I usually get mussels, frog legs, oysters on the half shell, sushi, peel-and-eat shrimp. It's a pretty good deal to get all of that seafood ... but if you don't like that stuff or are scared to eat it off of a buffet, then that's a different story.
The people there have always been nice to us. But previous posts are right, the bathroom could use help. That seems to be often the case in Chinese buffets using old Shoney's buildings.
My wife and I used to love this place. The iron Chef above is right, however now I think it has hit bottom. There are many things no longer on the menu that used to be, such as Dungeness crab, mussels, Tilapia and normal size fried shrimp.
We went last night and there were even five-minute periods where they were out of crab legs. We had to ask to have our drinks refilled. After our discard plate became full, we had to get our own replacement. All of this and their prices have increased.
We will not be going back.
When they first opened it was the best. But recently it's been really gross. The last time we ate there my husband was sick for a few days. So I doubt we'll go back.
I have eaten there a while a go and it was a bad experience, sure the food tasted all right, but that evening I thought my stomach was gonna explode. Im not being a baby either, I can stomach white castle like its a normal food, but this, wow its on a whole new scale.
I've only been once, during the dinner hours. The food was about average for an asian buffet, but with the tab for one person ending up at $14 it wasn't a good value. The one item that I did really like was the sesame balls, other than that it was all just okay.
Somebody's Watching youuuu
The 2 times i have been there I was feeling we were watched each time we went to the buffet for food. They would wait until people slowed down to refill the crab legs etc, moving the people to the direction of less costly food. Just did not seem friendly.
