Located right on the Monon trail, this mom-and-pop shop traffics in big burgers and cream, which is icy. A perfect spot for a family visit on a weekend afternoon.

This place is extremely casual, with a very young staff. Be prepared to wait but come with a good attitude and you'll have fun!
... then Bub's Burgers is what you're looking for. It's not fancy, it doesn't try to do gourmet food, although if you're tired of red meat the mahi mahi is surprisingly tasty and a great price for what you get. What's cool about Bub's is you can order beef or their lower-fat elk burgers, in whatever size you feel you're up to. The elk is every bit as tasty as the beef (as long as you don't ask for it overcooked). Onion rings were average, but waffle fries are very good, potato salad is superb, and milkshakes are out of this world. If you're stuffed after the burger, you can walk it off on the Monon or walking the streets of the Carmel arts distict. Expect a wait on a nice summer day, but they make it worth your while.
