I've been here for a little over a year and I've always wanted to try this place out. I was sorry I did. I went on a Friday night, taking a friend with me. First off, let me say that the location is not the best. It shares a parking lot with a Micro-tel, and it's hard to find somewhere to park. We ended up parking across the street at the Sams Club.
We entered the place and couldn't find anyone to seat us...and being first timers we didn't know if we were supposed to sit down ourselves or not. Finally a staff member sat us down, and told us that our drink orders would be coming right up, and that "karaoke starts in an hour". This was a Friday night, and I'm thinking. They didn't have Karaoke listed for Fridays....hmmm..
So the bar server comes up, and asks us what we would like to drink. I say "Since this is a Greek Restaraunt, do you have anything Greek?" "Nope." She says. "Ummm..okay...do you have anything German?" I asked her. "Nope." She says. "Well what do you have?..Do you have a beer list?" I ask her. She looks at me with the expression that I had just run over her cat, and said "We don't have a beer list, why don't you just name off some beers and I'll tell you if we have them." Okay I'm thinking...I'll play your silly game. "Bitburger" Nope "Lowenbrau" Nope "Warsteiner" Nope "Harp" Nope "Any Ciders?" Nope. Finally I said "WHAT DO YOU HAVE?" "We have "Bud, Bud light, Bud Ice, Miller, Miller Light, Miller Ice,..." I listened to her name off the standard brand domestics. "Do you have anything that is not domestic?" "We have Guinness." She said. "Cool...on tap?" "Nope...in cans." Gaaah. I settled for a Corona.
She then said. "I just work the bar. Someone else will come by and get your food order."
We waitied for about 20 minutes for our drinks to come, and almost another half an hour for the single waitress to come. She gave us our menus, and in less than a minute wanted to know what we wanted. I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo, and my friend ordered Chicken Alfredo.
She took our order and left. We never saw the drink girl again. By the time our food was here, the bar was turning into "Country Karaoke"...and we ate, and listened. My food was warm, not hot,...they had forgotten parmesian cheese for both meals. We asked them twice for it, and the waitress "forgot". She never came by the check to see if we wanted another drink, desert, or how our food was. Once "karaoke" started, all the wait staff started working the bar area, and left the dining room patrons alone, (since the bar was where the bigger tips were.)
The food wasn't that good, the service sucked, the noise was atrocious, and the overall attitude was "so what".
I think the biggest problem to the place though is the idea that it doesn't really seem to want to know "What" it's supposed to be... Is it a bar? Is it a tavern? Is it a restaraunt? A deli? A greek restaraunt? A sports bar? A country western bar?
Unfortunately it seems intent on trying to fill all of those niches and succeeds in none.
With poor service, bad attitudes, bad food, and just a plain bad night, I don't think we will be going here again.
My advice. AVOID THIS PLACE on THUR-SAT evenings as it seems to be the "local karoke/white trash hangout"...
Fun and different
I like this place alot. There are so few places on the westside now that offer good food and live music. I am a real fan of Mark Reed and his music so it's great he's working there. There are different live bands on the weekends also. The music has been great when we've been there. The food is very good so we usually order dinner or snacks. They have a large menue selection and good deals on rib and steak dinners. I hear the lunchtime buffet and sunday brunch are very good also. The only thing I didn't care for was the music was way too loud on a recent friday when we stopped by for drinks and a snack. Our friends made us leave after one drink. It is usually not too loud ;so we will go back.
