This is a GREAT Irish pub! One of the Bests! But beware of the St. Paddys Day Party! It Rocks! BUT IT IS PACKED! YOU WILL NEED TO GET TO THE PLACE VERY, VERY EARLY!
A great place for drinks!
They also have two locations!
I've been to Claddagh quite a few times, but can't say that I've extensively explored their menu. Why? I can't get away from that Irish Monte Cristo! Devilishly delicious.... Sourdough bread, filled with Swiss, Cheddar, Rasher Bacon and turkey. Dipped in egg batter, griddled and sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with blackberry jam. Okay, so it's not something you want to chow down on every few days, but once a month is okay, right?
The service has been just fine, the old-fashioned look is appealing and they have some great beers to choose from. I've heard great things about the fish sandwich. Eventually I may get myself to take a Cristo break and give it a try.
We went to Claddagh's a couple of weeks ago with another couple. Two of us were vegetarian, but we didn't think it was an issue because of an earlier visit this summer in which there was a veggie burger option on the menu. Well the menu changed since this summer and there are now only two vegetarian options, a grilled portabello salad and a grilled portabello sandwich.
When my girlfriend wasn't thrilled with the other two options, our server helped us modify another entree to make it vegetarian (the spinach chicken melt). She also added extra veggies to make it a more substancial sandwich. I think this is the sign of a great server, one who will work with their guests to make sure everyone is completely satisfied. And my girlfriend loved the spinach melt. Overall a very good experience.
This is probably our favorite restaurant at the moment. The decor is utterly charming and reminiscent of the pubs we've visited in the UK. The fish and chips is to die for. But we also enjoy the Irish Stew. During our most recent visit, my husband had a steak marinated in Guiness (and other good stuff) that he enjoyed. I liked the sample he gave me! We try something new every time.
We have never had a bad experience at Claddagh--the wait-staff as well as the food has always been excellent.
The Claddagh allways provides consistantly good service and an interesting decor, also, the food is great.
I love the huge wooden tables.
Let's give some reviews!!!
I'm surprised there are not more reviews for this pub. Lets get started; the fish sandwich is deceivingly filling. The Bass Ale batter creates a nice flakey crust. The Balsamic Chicken is a treasure chest of gold for the senses. The marinade, tomatoes and scallions are a wonderful combination. Go check it out. Wonderful décor, ambiance and great St. Patrick Day Parties make for a perfect pub.
