Today:
Pizza accounts for much of the "pie" at this British style pub. Grab a slice of deep dish and enjoy a side of televised auto racing for free.
My husband and I gave it a try a few times. He's a pizza freak. And we just didn't care for it. Seemed overpriced, tad slow, and just seemed boring. No draw to bring us back and we live right up the road from one. Sadly, he's happier with Pizza King.
For your absolute best time at Union Jack Pub in Broad Ripple, be there on St. Patrick's Day when the Indy "500" Gordon Pipers perform. The place rocks!
They have a deep dish pizza that features a flakey, buttery crust. It's most excellent. Man, I'm hungry now.
I've eaten there a few times, and I don't see what all the hype is about. As someone who eats pizza every other day and is definitely not picky about where that pizza comes from, Union Jack would be around #100 on my list of places I'd go for a slice in Indy. Definitely overpriced and just not that great. The atmosphere is cool though, espcially if you're a racing/sports fan.
What else do you need but a nice cold beer and a great slice of pizza. Luckily you can get both at Union Jack. This restaurant is a little slice of England in the middle of Broad Ripple.
For a change of pace from normal pizza places give this place a whirl. Its got some good beer and its a pretty fun place, I recommend the other location more, but this one is just as good. The staff are pretty friendly, but it is kinda pricey for what you get. The food is good, but for that much I would expect more. Still a great place to hang out and have a good beer.
Great Service
We've been coming to Union Jack's for eons. We gave up a few years ago because the service was always slow. Tonight, however, with a really packed house, the service was great. We had their traditional pizza which was very good. My faith in UJ is restored.
