Today:
Talbott St. is a favored destination for men, women and those who are undecided. Internationally renowned DJs handle the wheels of steel while patrons fill up at the Copper Bar and dance with abandon or slide upstairs to the posh Sky Bar.
Talbott Street was the first gay bar I was ever in years ago when it was opened long before it's make-over and re-opening. It was quite the bar back then (in the 80s) and is quite the bar now. The unfortunate thing about its new attendees is that they are very young, very pretty, and very VERY into MTv fashion and "what's in." I've been there three times since its re-opening: once, just to check it out; a second time for Halloween; and finally for a Paul Oakenfield (sp?) show (which was slated to start at 9pm, he started at midnight, and I left at 12:05am). Everyone has this bitchy attitude toward anyone who's over 30, weighs more than 120 lbs, and isn't wearing something that cost more than a Nintendo Wii.
YES, the Legendary Ladies Rock! Sorry INplaywright doesn't love this place... I have never felt this way towards it.
So many of my girlfriends love to go here, not only to see the 'show' but also because we feel safe. No sleazy guys dancing up on you or trying to mess with you. Only very open minded and cool people out to have a great time!
Legendary Ladies!
Hey! No mention of the best female impersonators in the Midwest!? Ladies of Legends in the cabaret! It's also my favorite place to dance, and look at femmey boys! Cute bartenders, Josh and Shahona, and my favorite alt girls, Asia, Alana, and Vicki! YAY!
