Today:
Is the vibe South Floridian or North Caribbean? Either way you look at it, the bar and patio here celebrate beachfront living with lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57 and french-fried potatoes, a big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer.

The CIP or Cheeseburger in Paradise is frosty girly goodness of frozen margarita, strawberry daquiri, pina colada and probably something else I am forgeting, drowned in Blue Curacua with a little candy cheeseburger. It is good, but very very filling!
I went for Karaoke with Nancy one night after work with a group of people...I was pretty dissapointed. This is not Nancy's usual Karaoke crowd (at least not the ones I am used to.. think Front Page completely packed full with fun drunkards carooning to all kinds of rock) No Siree not here, at Cheeseburger you get middle aged white women singing country music, sad slow country music to a nearly empty bar... it is actually rather depressing.
I am going to give it another shot, I am hoping they were just having an 'off' night.
Can't say that my food has ever been memorable but I need to try something else. But the atmosphere is fun and the musician is usually a riot.
I love going there and having a couple drinks with my friends. The entertainment is usually decent-if not really good. Frank Bradford and Sam King are my favorite local artists. The only nights I stay away are Monday-the karaoke is terrible.
Although its kinda corny inside with all of the surfs up junk, its actually a really nice place to try and eat. I got the plate of small cheeseburgers and it was delicious. I would say that the staff is pretty friendly too. You can also sit outside if your lucky and get a table before its taken up.
Overall CIP has a good menu I unfortunately have received a sandwich with a date sticker (for the meats freshness) stuck in it - they comped the meal - all 4 of us and gave me a new sandwich.
The last time I was there some presumably drunk person kept asking for the musician to play Freebird and Stairway all night long.
Considering that it's part of a chain, the service always seems personal. The food is fun and good, the fried oysters were my favorite but I don't think they have them any longer. The namesake Cheeseburger in Paradise Burger is another good option. The bar is very well stocked and has a good vibe going on.
I used to go here specifically for the conch fritters, but they cannot serve them anymore because conch is on the endangered species list or some trash like that. Why is is that the most delicious animals are always on this endangered species list. I've heard that fried Dodo bird is to die for.
anyway, the Cuban sandwich is pretty good, and they have live music quite a bit. So it comes up now and then as a possible place to hang out.
Here is the problem, I hate this place. They are WAY over priced, and the food tastes like I am eating McDonalds. I have enjoyed the live band, but I refuse to order food or drink.
The problem is that my wife likes this place. Here is her POST:
So my DH is just oblivious to the joys of SWEET POTATO CHIPS and EURORIA (drink) ....mmmmm. So they are a little pricey, but honestly I'd go just for the chips. The ambiance is just so soothing especially on a cold day. It's just a fun place to be with YUMMY food.
You would have to be drunk to think that there food is worth the price. Maybe that is why they are still in business. They have a loyal drinking crowd who then buys there overpriced hamburgers.
Stellar for a Cheesy Cheeseburger Joint
Cheeseburger in Paradise is supposed to be hokey and over the top as its name sake Key West. It's fruity.
First off try the "Cheeseburger in Paradise" drink. I'm usually not a big fan of fruity foo fooie drinks, but it really is a stellar multi-layered creation. Make sure you're not driving it's big.
The Island Ale is acctually Leinenkugels Special Ale if you want to get technical. As far as light beers go (despite the fact it's supposed to be a red it tastes blonde) it's not too bad. I've been known to swallow a glass or two with a meal there. Acctually that puts it in priveleged company, the only other light beers I can stomach being Kirin Ichiban, Taj Mahal, Boddingtons, and Bass Ale.
The food is fun and tasty. I'd recommend skipping the mini-cheeseburgers as appealing as they may sound. You're better served by your local White Castle for that sort of thing. It's impossible to get them anything other than well done and they aren't all that for a burger aficionado.
The "Not too Particular Not too Pressed" Burger is one of my favorites. It's got a little Cuban flare to it. (it does not taste anything like a cigar) The chicken satay is nice if you're not into red meat. If you're not into meat, well then I'm not sure you should be at a place with "Cheeseburger" in it's title. :-) Seriously though they do have a decent vegetarian selection.
I'm also partial to the fries, I'll often skip them though and get a salad so I don't see my own waist line expanding in my head quite as much.
It's a fun place for family or friends. I think I've even had a birthday dinner at one. Stick to your guns, get a Cheeseburger and don't get it cooked past medium.
Fun fun fun. And you get little sunglasses too.
