The airy circular bar will please drinkers with discriminating tastes. Fine Mexican dining can be found here, so plan for an aperitif, dinner and a nightcap all under one roof. Don't forget that Sunday champagne breakfast.
I'm a HUGE mexican fan and El Torito did not let me down. The upscale decor was a nice change from other mexican places. The food was wonderful and SO affordable. This will be one of the places that will have to be visited atleast once a month. They serve warm tortillas and sweet cornbread casserole with most of the meals. Try the chimi w/ steak. It was amazing!
Recently, I met up with friends at El Torito for the Sunday brunch. I was a HUGE fan of the Keystone Grill's Sunday brunch. I was very sad when KG closed. To my extreme delight, El Torito proved to be a wonderful replacement! It's a different sort of atmosphere with food options quite different from my beloved KG offerings. But it was yummy and fun, all the same! I haven't been there other than for brunch so I can't comment on the menu items, but the brunch food and price warrant many return visits.
My wife, daughter, and I went for the first time to El Torito Saturday night. Like many restaurants near the fashion mall - we paid for the ambiance and not the food. The presentation was nice and the food very rich, but I couldn't taste the vegetables in my fajita burrito because they were so overly marinated and limp. The green rice and corn cake were wonderful, and a nice break from the normal.
The warm tortillas were nice, though they came out with our meal. My daughters kids menu item seemed overpriced and was served cold.
The best part of the dinner was the margaritas. My wife tried the Fresca and I had a silver with Patron - lovely!
This brunch will not disappoint - plenty of options with American and Mexican breakfast and lunch options. The homemade tortillas at the taco station were incredible, the carved ham was tender and flavorful, and the fruit waffle area satisfied my sweet tooth. Our server was very attentive with the champagne. We will definitely brunch here again!
El Torito hits stylish, elegant, casual notes
When Keystone Grill became El Torito Grill late last year, the restaurant seemed to come into its own. Out with the deco influence, in with ...
