Antique lovers will swoon over the decorative flourishes and polished hardwood paneling that dresses the large rooms of this very clean and polished English-style pub. Dozens of large televisions are crammed into the corners, but there still spots for quiet conversation.
The pizza is hands down the best I've had in indy. Decent selection of beer.
My only complaint is the same dude they have play accoustic on Thursdays... pretty annoying sometimes when you just wanna kick it with friends.
Some of you may be wondering $6.95 for a Filet...? You mean Sirloin Right?
NOPE... Every Tuesday night indulge with a cup of soup (usually, Chicken rice), Romaine Salad, with REAL Croutons, and shredded Monterey Jack - (Choose your dressing)... A 6 oz. Bacon Wrapped Filet and your choice of Baked Potato or Fries.
---Soup--- Chicken Rice is not really my first choice... I'll try it, if it is not cold when they serve it (twice has happened to me)
--Salad--- Love the Salad, I usually get it with Ranch (creamy) and the croutons taste like they are Homemade.... with REAL Cheese and a little pepper.. it is delicious. Try the raspberry vinaigrette. Very good.
---Filet--- Bacon Wrapped Filet... This at times can be hit or miss depending on the cut. If you get a good cut, it has great taste..(especially for $6.95.) (I do medium, my medium rare.. wasn't so hot)
---Potato or Fries--- I usually get the Fries, which are REALLY crispy regular size fries... most of the time, they are really salty (Perfect) .. I have seen the baked potato and they are great size and I have been told they are really good..
Give it a try..... You can't beat $6.95 for Dinner.
I was served raw chicken after ordering a buffalo chicken sandwich. Not undercooked, but almost completely raw. The waitress admitted that they just brought the chicken out of the freezer and hadn't properly thawed it, but I will never go back. A restaurant that makes those kind of mistakes needs to get the kitchen in order before they make people sick.
Pizza is solid, and so is the rest of the food. Always leave full and tipsy from the Ale Emporium. If your on the northside of Indy, this is one of your best bets.
I've been going to the Emporium for years. Everyone is right, the pizza is great. The beer selection is also solid. They have a huge selection of local and national microbrews. I always check out new places, but I keep going back to the Emporium when I want to have a conversation over a few drinks.
Ale Emporium is a pretty good place to hang and watch the game, eat some way-better-than-average pizza, drink beer, even play shuffleboard (or whatever they call that fun, sandy game in the back room!). But the Hermanyaki chicken wings are what makes this place stand out from all others. The staff refuse to give out the recipe, but it's some sort of teriyaki and very spicy barbecue mix with wings that are fried, then finished on a grill. We have tried several times to re-create the recipe at home without success. So we'll continue to return to Ale Emporium when we need our Hermanyaki fix.
Ale Emporium
The pizza here is oh so good, and the Herminaki wings, well all I can say is OMG! yummy
