Add this venue's events to my calendar
I've been going since I was young, and each time I discover something fun and neat to see. I believe it's the largest Children's Museum in the world, and they stay so constant with updates and new exhibits to keep it fresh. It's a great spot to take a date for the younger people, and for parents it's a great way to spend a day with the kids.
I took my son last week for his 2nd b-day and we both had loads of fun. There is so much for a toddler to do: playscape, robots, dinosaurs, playhouses, etc. I enjoy the new exhibits, as well as the old. The new sights keep each visit fresh, while the old exhibits bring back memories from my visits to the museum when I was a kid. I especially like the new exhibit about kids who have made a difference in our society--everyone should see it.
Indianapolis probably has one of the best Children's Museums around. There are always very interesting touring exhibits and they always seem to be working on improving the building. They built an IMAX theatre that really didn't do to well.. so what did they do? The turned it into an amazing dinosaur area. I would recommend this place for kids of all ages.
Indy residents are Blessed
I think Indianapolis natives forget how lucky they are to have this state-of-the-art children's museum in the city. I've lived in several different metropolitan areas, and Indy's children museum is by far the best. The ever-changing special exhibits are always worth coming back for. I was a nanny for two years, and the Children's Museum was a great way to spend the day. They are constantly renovating and making changes, so that the museum stays relevant and interactive for children. Younger ones will really like the Playscape area for preschoolers. Even without kids, I make sure I visit at least once a year. The centerpiece glasswork by Dale Chihuly is amazing, as well as his other glass pieces in the museum.
