As Good As It Gets Round Here

Gimme a glass of Bookers Bourbon, a fat cigar, a leather couch, and my closest friends and I'm damn near bliss. Only thing that could make it better might be a bit of chocolate.

Nicky Blaine's excels at being a place to chill and relax. The live jazz is a definite plus. The decor is fabulous and the way the interior is broken up into private little lounging modules is genius. The ambience is further enhanced by the descent down the stairs and the terraced entry way into the main lounge.

The interior is warm and fairly masculine. It's like being cradled in a little underground lair of decadence.

My friends love the flavored martinis and I appreciate their fine liquor selection. The appetizers aren't half bad either.

I hear of all the bars in Indy ladies are more likely to have drinks bought for them here than most places. Most likely thanks to the affluent clientele. A nice change from the normal scene in Indy.

It's good here, really good. You'll feel lovely lightening your wallet.

Classic

Bars come and bars go, but there will never be a bar in Indy cooler than this. When you have guests in town and you want to take them out, take them here. Nicky Blaine's is legendary. If you don't know why, you haven't been there.

Old School !!!! But Good

Old school style and atmosphere, the truth is this establishment is great in my book but the smoke puts my spouse off a bit. I enjoy its location at the Circle and also the feeling that you have stepped back in time to a men's club when the word men's club did not mean nude women gyrating to loud music and a stale beer smell. The interior once your eyes adjust is comfortable but you must be willing to sit on a couch or large wing back type chair and relax. For myself this is the great place for a good whiskey or a great martini. I will say that the shrimp cocktail is as good as at St. Elmo and the local celebrity's that you can see are as readily available for viewing as at St. Elmo's. Overall a great place in the cold winter months to kick back warm yourself and enjoy a bit.

The Last Cool Place to smoke in Indy. Non-Smokers need not apply!!!

This is it. The soft ambient light, smooth music that's never to intrusive, and lets not forget, you can smoke. And lets think about that. You can smoke, you can smoke at a lot of places, but there are very few left in this city where you can and people don't look at you like you have a gun.

Cigar and Martini bar, not Martini and Cigar bar. With a name like that, anyone who reviews a place like this based on it's smokey atmosphere should be ignored. I don't review places where I can't smoke based on that, so why do you. This day and age there are many more places where you can't, so if you happen in a place where the first word in the name is cigar, you deserve to have a bad experience if you don't smoke.

With that said, even if you couldn't smoke here it's still the best place in the city. It's weird, you could be in the middle of everything, yet if you want some privacy, you can walk five feet in any direction and get it. If you want a good conversation but came alone, talk to any waiter or bartender there and they will gladly talk back. If they are really busy, they may chit chat for a moment, but will always come back and talk some more.

The only complaint I can think of is that their cigar prices, are 30 to 40 percent more than what they sell for elsewhere.

But who cares when your having this much fun.
