The 501 is for the hardcore. The regular crowd of this gay bar is hell bent for leather, but denim-wearers won't be ostracized.

The Only Bear Bar in Indy
While it is true that the 501 Eagle is Indy's only "leather" bar, it's also the only gay bar in town that embraces the bear community. You won't find a lot of S&M (Stand & Model) queens at this bar because it's a good, old-fashioned, neighborhood pub-like bar. Most of the guys who go there are very friendly, the staff is fun and flirty, and the drinks are well worth the price because they actually have alcohol in them.
The only drawback is that it's not very female-friendly. If you're looking for a place to take you girl pals or co-workers... probably not the best spot for that.
