This spacious minimum-security brewery hides roomy booths, cheer and beer beneath Circle Center Mall. A steel staircase and walkway lead to balcony seating that overlooks the main floor. Set down your shopping bags and select a craft brew from the full-service bar.
Only went once, and that was enough. The burger was expensive and it wasn't anything exceptional, and it took forever to get our food, to get our checks, and to get out of there. They spend more on presentation than food and service; the fries came in what looked like a brushed stainless steel basket.
The food wasn't that great. It was too pricey. And the atmosphere pretty much sucked. I'd rather go to the Ram.
They jsut arent on top of it at all. The brews are good, but the service is horrible and for me that was enough to make me stay a way for a while.
The food was not that great and came up short of my expectations given the price of everything. This is one of those places you just leave to the tourist that come down for conventions and such. It will be a long time untill I come back.
Skip this place if you can. For starters, it's in a mall. Sometimes that's ok, but it doesn't exactly help the atmosphere in this case. Second, the beer isn't even good. I wonder what the point of having a brewery is if you don't serve good beer. As mentioned, the food is mediocre at best. I got the impression that they were happy to make their money tricking tourists and hungry shoppers rather than making a name for themselves with locals.
The burger I had was decent but overpriced. The server had no clue that ham, bacon and ribs where pork. And just about all the burgers had pork on them in some way which made it very hard to order. The host was a bit of a pest too. I'd rather eat at Steak n Shake.
From the below Alcatraz seems like a place I would not visit, but I wanted to give them a fair chance. I was exceptionally surprised. The quality of food has increased, they have a new lunch menu that runs Monday - Thursday that was really good! You should try the southwest chicken wrap. It was spicy and awesome. The french fries that came with it were fresh cut and moist. They were the best fries I have ever had. The manager was very friendly and the service was better than RAM! Sometimes, you have to experience things for yourself in order to get a full picture. I would recommend Alcatraz to my friends.
I'll pass
I was very unhappy with the quality of this resturant. Read from the menu, the food sounds really good but in person it is very disappointing. I paid $24 for a less than great hamburger, sweet potato fries, and and onion ring appetizer. The burger was very big and looked good but was cold and lacked flavor. The onion rings also were very bland and the sweet potato fries limp. I was with 14 other people which seemed to annoy our server even though he was getting 18% gratuity automatically added to our bill. Drink refills were few. This place was not friendly at all. I will not go back.
