Cabana Room

36 E. Main St., Brownsburg, IN, 46112

This upscale restaurant shares a peculiar, symbiotic relationship with the bar next door, My Favorite Cigar and Bar. Cabana serves the food and entertains the kiddies, while MFCB provides the allure of smoke and drink in a low-lit, intimate setting.

Best Restaurant in Brownsburg

It's fairly small. There isn't much signage to let you know it's there. But it's the best restaurant in Brownsburg. The Cabana Room is located on Main Street, tucked in near a consignment shop and a cigar bar. Just driving by, you might miss it. But if you're on a mission dedicated to dining there, it's easy enough to find.

When I was there last week, the specials were rosemary pork chops and rosemary chicken. I went with the chicken and was very, very happy with it. The accompanying salad was served first, I chose the housemade honey mustard and was pleased with it. Then the main dish arrived. The chicken was perfectly cooked. Flavorful, but not overwhelmed with the seasoning. The artichoke hearts and mushrooms in the sauce provided a nice balance of flavor. And the bed of mashed red potatoes was cooked just right. The Belhaven Scottish Ale went perfectly with the meal

The menu features a long list of desserts but not all are available every night. I'd hoped the carrot cake was being served that night, but it wasn't to be. Instead I went with the peanut butter pie and was very happy with it.

The service was friendly and helpful. I will absolutely return here frequently.

It Needs Some Work

This place gets better all the time, but they are still far from being an upscale restaurant worth driving for. The atmosphere is cozy and sometimes cramped. Noise can be a problem when more than half full. The menu has some unique choices and everything I have eaten has been very well done. The problem is the service and finishing touches. They seem to run it like a bar that serves food. That may be a result of their ties to the cigar bar next door. Either way, that needs to change. Brownsburg needs another nice restaurant, not just a restaurant that's nicer than the other's in Brownsburg.

No ties to the Cigar Bar

The Cabana Room is the Best kept little secret in Brownsburg. The food is amazing with selections ranging from an 8 ounce 21 day aged all natural stockyard Filet, to a blackened Mahi or Yellow-fin tuna on their seafood platter or other various dishes served on Cajun night every Tuesday, there is always something unique and different being prepared at the Cabana Room. The desserts are home made and vary seasonally...the carrot cake is out of this world made from stoned ground wheat and either honey or fresh maple syrup it scales at 18+ lbs a cake. The peanut butter pie and key lime are to die for. The biggest mistake people assume or make is that the restaurant and the Cigar Bar next door are one in the same. They are not and never have been. The Cabana Room is non-smoking and is applying for its own beer and wine license which will completely separate it with no access to the cigar bar. It has been a struggle for the restaurant with little to no advertising and signage missing, they are working to get all of this in place. They have also acquired their own phone number no longer relating it to the cigar bar...give it a try...you will be pleasantly surprised.
