Fondue can be anything: food dipped in flavored broth, cooking oil, cheese, and yes, chocolate. The dining room is perfect for taking a private dip with your sweetheart. The restaurant recommends allowing two to three hours for dinner so don't stop in for two courses and a bottle of wine if you are trying to catch a movie afterward.
Went there for an anniversary. The service is the best we have had anywhere. The food is wonderful. A great place to celebrate an occasion.
Being the foodie I am, I love cooking. If you don't want to see what your food looks like before you cook it, i.e. raw shrimp, lobster, chicken, beef. may not be your spot.
The BF took me here for a birthday after they first opened, the Mojitos need some work but I love the food!
The melting pot is a great place to take a date. The food is great, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is beautiful. The booths have high back and the room is dimly lit, so it feels like you're all by yourself. The service was probably the best I've ever had.
I don't understand why it's so expensive. You are cooking it yourself!!! They have to be making a killing. They don't have chef's back there, just prep cooks. Heck, the waiters probably do it. It's fun, it's good, but I think the price could be a little lower. Sheesh!
My finace and I went there for our anniversary over the weekend and it was wonderful. I love this place, but my fiance had never been there and didn't know what to expect when I told him it would be a 2 1/2 hr meal. But he really enjoyed it. The food was great and it was so romantic and our server was great. Yeah, it's expensive, but totally worth it!
Every time we go here, it's always a good experience. The different cheese fondues are all good and the house salad is one of my favorites. For the entrée we always choose the mojo cooking style, it adds a nice citrus flavor to the food. The French quarter and pacific rim meals are 2 of my favorites, both include items that you usually wouldn't think of using in a fondue such as duck, potstickers, and andouille sausage. The chocolate fondue is a must, all of these that I've tried have also always been good. The service is usually on top of their game and then to top it off they have a nice selection of scotch.
Good every time
The atmosphere is what really makes the Melting Pot. I've been to the Greenwood location twice now, and every time the food is great.
It's expensive. I got the "big night out" for two people and it's VERY filling with extra food to spare. It cost about $130 after the tip at 20%.
The big night out is a 4 course meal including break with melted cheese (cheese of your choice!), salad, meal with meat+veggies, and dessert with the chocolate of your choice.
The dessert is among the best I've ever had. Cant beat cheesecake smothered in fondue chocolate.
The food is great, but obviously being a fondue restaurant you're cooking it yourself. As long as you prepare it correctly, it is delicious. My favorite of their sauces is the teriyaki glaze...don't skip trying this one!
