Graduation party

We had my sister's Collage graduation dinner here. It was awesome. The food is - interesting. We of course had to try the snake. The steaks were really yummy. But it can be pricey if you go there.

Definitely an experience

I've been here several times with my wife and sometimes take family or friends from out of town here, as it's a fun and unusual place. The decor is tacky fun, with lots of stuffed animals on the walls and a general wildlife theme. There are even some animatronic bears moving around.

The food is the real reason to go, however, as it's the only place in Indy where you'll find rattlesnake, elk, bison, walleye, or several of the other dishes they serve. It's a bit pricey, so be prepared to spend $100 for 2 people to eat a nice meal (although you could probably dine as cheap as $60).

This is a great place to go if you adventurous and want to try something new. I've tried just about everything on the menu (yes, including the rattlesnake bites, which are great).

Very Impressed

My husband, two year old and I ventured up this weekend and we have a very good time. They set the tone when we sat down and a plate of cheese and fruit was brought for my son. Any parent knows that it is like for a two year old to wait patiently for his dinner. This was a nice detail. My husband said it was the best Walleye he has had this side of Canada. We will definitely be going back

Loon Lake is a good time!

The first time we went was for some sort of event (valentine's, birthday, anniversary), so we spent a bunch of money and tried wild stuff. I got the elk steak and he got the buffalo meatloaf. I think we tried the rattlesnake bites for an appetizer. Everything was very tasty and interesting. The animatronic critters throughout the restaurant were a lot of fun to watch. It would be a great place for you to have a fine meal and yet entertain the kids. Or, entertain your date and leave the kids behind.

Bad service

We went for my graduation party and my brother's birthday to try something different. The service was HORRIBLE and we guessed it was due to the automatic 15% the server was guaranteed. My mom filled out a comment card and never heard anything back (bad move).

The food was alright, pricey for what you get.

We were also dissapointed by the animatronics, we expected something totally cool and they barely moved. Overall, I think there is much too much hype about this place.

Like a woodsy, less marketable Rainforest Cafe

The food here is really quite good but the service can be hit and miss. If you can, sit outside for the live music, though its right off of I69 you aren't distracted by the road noise.
