Today:
Fans of the former Thai Garden Downtown, Pnaya Staley moved shop to the Southside. The new location isn't as impressive but the food is and that's all that matters.
Thai Spice is in my regular restaurant rotation. I get something new each time without disappointment. Everything on the menu is great! I dream of the summer rolls and tofu tod and LOVE the seda lui suan!
whenever we go out to eat, we think about what sounds good and it is almost always thai food. And Thai Spice is the best spot for it in the city. The seating isn't the most private for a romantic date or anything. But you're not there for the atmosphere. You're there for food so full of flavor that it blows just about everything else away.
Had a quick lunch here on Saturday. Was expecting the worst when we walked in, given the overpowering smell of stale smoke. But the shrimp salad with chilis and lemongrass was a delight, and the satay was good as well. Will happily return when in Greenwood.
When the wife and I can't decide on where to eat out, we always end up at Thai Spice! We are so glad they relocated to the Southside. When we go for lunch, we always ask for the dinner menu. Not that their lunch menu is inadequate, but our favorites are only on the dinner menu. Wonderful and flavorful ginger ribs, satay, tempura platter, etc. Friendly and helpful wait staff are very attentive to your needs. We were hooked from the first visit even though my wife had never had Thai food before. Hope they remain on the Southside for years to come.....
Unfortunately location does matter.

I don't know when they moved, but downtown is in desperate need of a Thai restaurant.. The lunch crowd needs this option and as an actual resident I would prefer my carry out not be cold by the time I get home.
