14 West (14 W. Maryland St., Indianapolis, IN)5
I dined with the world’s most beautiful lady here on Valentines day. We had a very pleasant experience except for some unusual things. First of all the food was some of the best served here in Indy. The Swordfish with it’s spicey/sweet sauce challenged the tongue. The Sea Bass with it’s red wine rosoto to me was a little plain but to the lovely lady it was the best she has tasted in a while. The shrimp cocktail is good but not as good as St. Elmos. The only issue with this restaurant is the seating. The seating is to close to have any privacy, I guess this is to make sure they can get more paying customers in the door, and this makes it impossible to have an intimate evening. Valentines day is suppose to be intimate I do believe. It seems that if you are a regular customer you get preferred seating no matter when you get there, but I really didn’t see any advantage to their booth like tables. So no privacy but great food is the call for this fine diner.

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants (110 N. Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN)5
A playful bar room area with a touch of spicey stews filled the night beautifully. You add the gorgeous woman who is my soul mate and it changed the evening dinner into the event it became. My hat is off to the chef and waitress too.

Oceanaire Seafood Room (30 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN)6
Wow, We visited this place on New Year’s Eve and it was the most romantic setting I’ve been in for a long time. It made you feel like you were on the Titanic. I’m a man mind you so getting into a place that is romantic is usually far in between each time :). The waiter was the best waiter I’ve ever had the pleasure of dining with because he knew all of the courses and how they were put together by the chiefs. All the courses were delightful, but the lobster, crab, and shrimp entree was the bomb. I’ve eaten here a few times and have enjoyed it every time but this time by far was the best dining experience I’ve ever been a part of thank you Oceanaire.

Morton's The Steakhouse (41 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN)4
My woman took me to this place on my birthday because I had heard it was excellent. I’ve eaten at almost every steakhouse in Indy and this one is by far the worst one in the city. First of all you are eating in a cafe, come on people if you are going to charge these ridiculous prices at least make an area for fine dining not a school room style cafe. Next the steak had to be recooked twice just to get it the way I ordered it. I ordered it medium. Last we were made to think we needed to get out of there as soon as possible to clear up the table for the next paying customers. Well not all of the places in Indy can have great establishments, can they?

Harry & Izzy's (153 S. Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN)
This is a very interesting place. Being a devoted democrat it is amazing to me that I would like a place which republicans have proven they could actually manage. I even had the opportunity to meet Mr. Brizzi himself to which I must say he is quite the gentleman. The food is awesome especially the salad, the service excellent, and the decor is very good too. The only thing I noticed about the decor which needs attention is the railing in some areas has worn down and needs a stain touch up. The prices are high but if your going to eat at an establishment with the rich and famous you are going to pay for it, right guys. I was told by Mr. Brizzi that he and Payton also were partners on this place so I’m guessing if you want to see “the man” this is going to be your best bet.

Dawson's on Main (1464 Main St., Speedway, IN)20
A couple of weeks ago I stopped by this establishment and made a reservation for Friday night. The owner/manager(?) informed me they didn’t let parties of two make reservations but he would put me on a preferred list. I watched him write my name on the list. The next night when we came at the time we were to be there I was informed I needed to wait for a table to clear up. As I looked into the diner I noticed there were only about a half a dozen tables with people eating at them and about eight tables empty. I also noticed there were three table empty in the bar room area. When I asked why we couldn’t be seated at any of these tables I was told that parties of two could only eat at tables for two. A four topper or a six topper would be wasted if they sat a party of two at them. I asked to see the manager and I was told I would have to wait. I inquired why I needed to wait to see a manager seeing she wasn’t doing anything and she would only say well because. I did call later to talk to the manager only to find out they supposedly do seat parties of two at four toppers but the manager didn’t offer an apology or anything which would indicate she was sorry for the misunderstanding. Poor service, Poor management!!!!

Dunaway's Palazzo Ossigeno (351 S. East St., Indianapolis, IN)
I dined at this establishment the other night during winter fest and left the place feeling it was uneventful and lacking. Winter fest is designed to show the public what kind of establishment you have and to create a desire to feel welcome. We were seated next to a window which leaked cold air, while there were plenty of seats available elsewhere. When I tried to make it so the air didn’t leak in I was approach by the waitress like I was trying to break something, but instead of fixing the problem she made us feel this was all that was available to us. The salad dressings are limited to those who like ranch types or vinaigrettes. The only steak on the winter fest menu was a flank type which I know is one of the cheapest kind of steaks. So we were forced to eat off the original menus. The food is plain, the atmosphere above average, the service adequate, and the pricing to high for what you receive.

While the steaks are okay for your money you get a better atmosphere and quality of food at Shulas
