MCL Restaurant and Bakery (6002 Crawfordsville Road, Speedway, IN)1
The main clientele of this restaurant are slowing disappearing, so I imagine they won’t be around too much longer. If you want to eat food from the 50’s in a Cafeteria, then this is the place to go. Nothing like getting a scoop of burnt macaroni out of a large metal pan. YUM YUM.

McDonald's (4802 W. 57th St., Indianapolis, IN)1
If you haven’t eaten here before, then you probably aren’t from Earth. It is pretty much a global standard for better or for worse. Get a double cheeseburger for a buck while you still can!

Golden Corral (6102 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN)3
Not exactly worth eating, but it is all you can eat. So it is sort of a paradox. Not really a good part of town. I wouldn’t have minded eating there when it first opened. All of the food was really fresh and they had a large selection of fresh fruit. The place has gone down hill in the past few years.

La Bamba (3820 Lafayette Road, Indianapolis, IN)1
It is true! La Bamba does have burritos as big as your head! Well maybe not yours, I do know some people with rather large head. Nonetheless, La Bamba is the best place to get a huge burrito at 3pm or 3am. They are open late for the bar crowd, so I am sure they are used to dealing with drunk people. If you find yourself craving a huge burrito at 3am then you should visit La Bamba!

Eh! Formaggio (5510 Lafayette Road, Indianapolis, IN)13
I visited Eh! Formaggio the other night with my daughter and I was very impressed. I ordered a slice of pizza for her and a calzone for me. We both just had water. I was worried that just getting a calzone, I would not get enough to eat. Boy was I wrong! The thing was as large as my daughters head. And her slice of pizza, which they graciously cut up for her, was the size of two slices from any other pizza joint. All of this food only set me back $9. Feeling bloated, but compelled to try a canoli, I dropped another 2.50 for the canoli, which wasn’t as gargantuan as the other dishes, was twice as delicious. It the filling was cold and sorta reminded me of chocolate chip cookie dough. The whole thing was drizzled with chocolate, also. I will be back very soon.

Wings Etc. (251 W. Northfield Drive, Brownsburg, IN)4
Besides having an offensive name, they have an offensive flavor. They are just wings with Kikomens soy sauce over them and a little hot sauce. It tastes just like someone bought a jar of the sauce from Walmart across the street and poured it on the wings.

Noodles & Company (927 Broad Ripple Ave., Indianapolis, IN)7
While their prices are more expensive, it is a fast food alternative with some good dishes. I love the Asian Pan Noodles with the red rooster sauce. That is some spicy stuff! I bought some just for my home cooking, which is cheaper than Noodle and Co.

Applebee's (6110 E. 82nd St., Indianapolis, IN)4
While Applebees is just like many other American Style restaurants, there is not much to separate it from the pack. It has many good dishes but nothing really note worthy. I would recommend their healthy menu. They have a very delicious steak teryoki skewer that is inexpensive and low in calories. yum yum.

McAllister's Deli (8487 Union Chapel Road, #A, Indianapolis, IN)3
I visited McAllister’s the other day and ordered the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. It was a very big salad for a good price(between $6-7). The chicken was very good and so was the dressing. My daughter got the children’s pizza which seems to be made with whole wheat crust. She enjoyed it and from the few nibbles I snuck in, I agree. I look forward to visiting this place again.

Don Pablo's (8150 U.S. 31 S., Greenwood, IN)3
I love to eat at this place. They have awesome Tex Mex food. The only complaints is that this place is usually crowded and it will take 2 washes of your clothes to get the awful smell out. Nothing more attractive than taking your date out to dinner and then her smelling like a 3 week old chimichanga.

Bazbeaux Pizza (334 Massachusetts Ave., Indianapolis, IN)26
How can a trip downtown be complete without a slice of their delicious pizza? Apparently other people must agree because this place is usually packed! They have many different types of pizza which are all awesome. If you are downtown and want some pizza, make sure to stop by Bazbeaux’s

Cheeseburger in Paradise (4670 Southport Crossings Way, Indianapolis, IN)12
You would have to be drunk to think that there food is worth the price. Maybe that is why they are still in business. They have a loyal drinking crowd who then buys there overpriced hamburgers.

Hooters (5314 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN)4
If you are going to go to a Hooters, don’t go to this one. Not a very good location and a terrible neighborhood. Stick to Greenwood or another location.

Mug-N-Bun Drive-In (5211 W. 10th St., Speedway, IN)12
Pretty good food. I never really dug the drive in. It just does not seem very practical for an area with long winters. Great Root Beer though!

Fountain Diner (1105 Shelby Street, Indianapolis, IN)3
Like mentioned above, this is your classic diner. I have been on a couple nights and it is sorta filled up. Mostly by the people who are doing swing dancing next door. It isn’t exactly the cleanest neatest place. Most of their bowls and dishes look like they are from my 90 year old grandmas house. Interesting to say the least.
-
Donatos (5620 Crawfordsville Road, Indianapolis, IN)2
For some reason most people love Donatos, but I just do not like their style of pizza. I have not complaints about service or anything like that. I just don’t like their style. You might!

Chuck E. Cheese's (4910 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN)3
Chuck E Cheese is an amazing place for kids. All of the games cost the same. The people are very flexible with tickets and sometimes they just leave tickets around for the kids to find. There food isn’t too shabby either. I would recommend going to the one in Avon over the 38th St. location. But fun can be had at any Chuck E Cheese.

Steak n Shake (5360 N. Keystone Ave., Indianapolis, IN)3
Nothing beats being able to get a milkshake and a hamburger for breakfast or just stopping by at 2am after the strip club. Yum yum.
-
Fazoli's (7218 W. 10th St., Indianapolis, IN)3
Fazoli’s has well priced pastas and sandwiches similar to Olive Garden. For a short time they got rid of their all you can eat breadsticks, but now they are back. They just aren’t very friendly towards you if you ask for more.

Dick's Bodacious Bar-B-Q (50 N. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, IN)5
I know people are self proclaimed BBQ experts, but BBQ is an odd thing in Indiana. There may be a good place to get it from time to time, but it never last that long. Dick’s has been around a while and has terrific BBQ. I got their grilled chicken sandwich (because I go for the healthier options) and then covered it in Sweet and Tangy BBQ. Their french fries are also very good with the BBQ sauce.
