Old Point Tavern (401 Massachusetts Ave., Indianapolis, IN)9
I have two complaints…
1. The bar sucks, it’s really awkward to sit at. My knees are always pinned up against it.
2. Stop using a tostitos type chips for your nachos and chili! They are gross and way too salty. Use some real tortilla chips!
Otherwise I love Old Pointe. The veggie chili is awesome and the beer selection is quite adequate! (Please bring back John Courage!)

Noodles & Company (927 Broad Ripple Ave., Indianapolis, IN)7
to ever consider eating at this place.

Old Spaghetti Factory (210 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN)10
Give me real italian food: Iaria’s, Milano Inn or Mama Carollas

Ugly Monkey (50 W. South St., Indianapolis, IN)

Chatham Tap Pub & Restaurant (719 Massachusetts Ave., Indianapolis, IN)
I went here with my Mom on Sunday afternoon. I had the garlic pork tenderloin.. It was surprisingly good considering I had been told the food was “awful” at Chatham Tap. The atmosphere was comfortable, but the service was a bit slow even though it was not busy at all. Either way it was a Sunday so were weren’t really in a rush.
The prices seemed a bit steep for what they were serving, but I’ll probably go back at some point. Not amazing, but not terrible.

Peppy Grill (1004 Virginia Ave., Indianapolis, IN)3
Breakfast 24/7, The corned beef & hash special is KILLER
-
TaTa Cuban Cafe (137 W. Market St., Indianapolis, IN)5
But the rice and beans have little to no taste, this really bummed me out. The sandwiches will keep me coming back for sure.
-
Bazbeaux Pizza (811 E. Westfield Blvd., Indianapolis, IN)12
is great.
Pizza rules.. bad pizza is still pizza, but Bazbeaux is a cut above most places.
-
King David Dogs (15 N. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, IN)9
When I asked the manager why they closed at 4pm, his response was “downtown is dead after 4pm.” Yeah, maybe 5 years ago. I’m sure they do plenty of good business at lunch time, but downtown businesses need to realize that Downtown isn’t “closing down” at 5pm anymore. You have residents and visitors at all hours wanting STUFF.
Anyway, the dogs are awesome.. and if you order fries instead of tots you should be shot!

City Cafe (443 N. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, IN)4
This is my favorite place that I always forget about.. I’ve had bad service before as well, but I love little spots like this.
-
Acapulco Joe's Mexican Foods (365 N. Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN)33
This place is awful.
-
Olive Garden (1274 U.S. 31 South, Greenwood, IN)3
Limited on quality. Too many good local italian restaurants in this city to waste my time/money on this place.
-
Thai Spice (2316 E. County Line Road, Indianapolis, IN)6
Fans of the former Thai Garden Downtown, Pnaya Staley moved shop to the Southside. The new location isn’t as impressive but the food is and that’s all that matters.
I don’t know when they moved, but downtown is in desperate need of a Thai restaurant.. The lunch crowd needs this option and as an actual resident I would prefer my carry out not be cold by the time I get home.

Gusto! (1043 Virginia Ave., Suite 6, Indianapolis, IN)5
Decent beer selection, comfortable bar, above average pizza. I was weary and a friend told me it wasn’t that great.. I’m definitely going to give them more business.

Corner Wine Bar (6331 Guilford Ave., Indianapolis, IN)
The atmosphere is very nice, possibly romantic? The check at the end of the night is killer.
Above average food and excellent wine for my taste. (I’m no connoisseur.)
-
Shapiro's (808 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN)8
I would probably eat at the DT Shapiro’s daily. I’d also probably die of a heart attack at 35. I love the atmosphere and the location, the food is very comforting and the desserts are magnificent.
Hail to the Sandwich!
-
Qdoba Mexican Grill (9702 East Washington St., Indianapolis, IN)5
My point wasn’t that Qdoba isn’t fine dining, but rather the fact that it’s a chain restaurant. Do they really need to be reviewed? It’s always just average/edible food. It’s no wonder local restaurants seem to fail so much, it’s not that they don’t provide good food, but rather the chain addiction/comfort zone people have.

Hot Box Pizza (715 Broad Ripple Ave., Indianapolis, IN)12
I found a coupon/business card for a free pizza from hot box (awesome stoner reference) in my mailbox earlier this week.. that’s all.
