Eddie Merlot's (3645 E. 96th St., Indianapolis, IN)2
What can I say we have been here four times in the past year and it is GREAT, the last time was for our anniversary and to top off the outstanding steak I was able to meet just about every starter of the Colts. When you combine this with the fact that the first time we arrived we also were able to speak with the Governor and is wife, this establishment is outstanding. A bit costly? Yes. That is why we have only been there four times but the truth be told the price is worth it and it beats the heck out of other establishments that are commented on Monday Night Football (if you know what you mean). The shrimp cocktail is the bomb and you must keep in mind that you need to order your sides separate (but don’t over order). You can wear jeans as well as a three piece suit, but the steak is my favorite and the service is bar none one of the best I have ever had. Take her out and enjoy the night, if you do not impress with this one then guy’s you have other problems that can not be addressed here.

Britton Tavern (14005 Mundy Drive, Fishers, IN)
When I logged in this establishment had a rating of four stars, I will say that it was new but four stars are a bit much. The food is decent and the portions are ok but the drink prices are not really that great. The have a great amount of HD TV’s which is good for the games on Sunday. If you want a place where you can go in be anonymous and smoke then this is the place for you. Recently on Sunday they have started a bloody mary bar, but as yet I have not tried this. Best dishes? Loaded fries and fish and chips, in my view. The servers well once again not unfriendly but not down home how are you.

H2O Sushi (1912 Broad Ripple Ave., Indianapolis, IN)2
Overall not bad for the area, we entered this restaurant last October. At first we viewed the website and decided that it looked interesting. The location was not what I would call the best but the food was decent the Sushi was a bit pricy for what you received but it was fresh and yes they do use steel chop sticks (this is new to me) but it does give them a tag line that others can not boast. I will say that with time Sushi is now more or less in the main stream and that restaurants now need to ensure that they realize these are no longer specialty establishments and in doing so they need to expand there menu and also understand the importance of fresh delivery every day. The interior was fine they have tried to make it sheik with the decor and flooring but in doing so I do not feel that it fits the exact location. Overall decent and good but not someplace where I would drive out of my way for more than at least twice

Hamilton Restaurant (933 Conner St., Noblesville, IN)1
Not bad for a local eatery we discovered this establishment last year in December and were impressed with the way they change the menu based on the seasons and what is fresh. The seating area is let’s say quaint (which means rather small) but the food was really decent. The last time I was there I had the Trout (coming from California) I was used to very fresh line caught Trout but I must say that for the area it was quite good here. I have also had the lamb, one dish that I like to try at new places since for some reason I feel this to be a test for the overall restaurant in quality and ability. I do not know this as any fact but just my own opinion. My wife had the the chicken breast and she enjoyed the preparation. For a small local place this is quite good, would I drive across town for this? No, but if you are in Hamilton County I would say it’s worth the drive.

Matteo's Ristorante Italiano (40 N. Ninth St., Noblesville, IN)3
This dining establishment is a great find in an area that you would not expect it to be, the truth be told the interior would better suit downtown Indy than downtown Noblesville but none the less the food and the menu is just great. The bar area is quite small so far someone that wants to sit and eat in this area I would not recommend it, but if you are willing to take a seat it will be worth the while. The food and the price are very reasonable the atmosphere is modern but yet with the twist you will enjoy for Italian. We have now been to this establishment several times and have always found the food and the servers very good. I would say this, “do not get stuck with thinking that the best is located in downtown Indy” take the time to stop by and enjoy the food in this local eatery it will be worth your while and will not break the bank.

Nicky Blaine's (20 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN)
Old school style and atmosphere, the truth is this establishment is great in my book but the smoke puts my spouse off a bit. I enjoy its location at the Circle and also the feeling that you have stepped back in time to a men’s club when the word men’s club did not mean nude women gyrating to loud music and a stale beer smell. The interior once your eyes adjust is comfortable but you must be willing to sit on a couch or large wing back type chair and relax. For myself this is the great place for a good whiskey or a great martini. I will say that the shrimp cocktail is as good as at St. Elmo and the local celebrity’s that you can see are as readily available for viewing as at St. Elmo’s. Overall a great place in the cold winter months to kick back warm yourself and enjoy a bit.

Oceanaire Seafood Room (30 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN)6
The verdict is still out on this establishment, since moving from California the review of this dining establishment is still an undecided in my book. I will say that “yes it does feel like being on a cruse ship” as they like to describe the interior but is “Cruse ship food” really what you want ??. The food I will say is very fresh as fresh as I would guess that we can get in this area and the oysters are great. So far the best I have had is the giant appetizer platter that features a large selection of seafood with a lobster on the top of a bead of ice. Would I say this is the best we have ever eaten ? Not by a long shot but for the area not bad. The prices are rather high, but this can be expected. As for the overall I’m still not 100% sold on the establishment. I would say enjoy the appetizers and the oyster bar and then go from there.

Amici's Italian Restaurant (601 E. New York St., Indianapolis, IN)5
The eclectic atmosphere was misplaced by the smell that just was not right. As we entered I told my wife that the food would either be great or just plain bad. Once we sat down we were served bread that was black on top and the odor within the place was not appetizing at all. After we ordered (the lasagna and a penne pasta) we were served a salad that was dripping in balsamic and was covered in powdered cheese (Not even fresh but powdered) we took two bites and were done. Then the main course was dropped off and it took me one second to send the lasagna back to the kitchen (it was stone cold) I advised the serve that I would not eat this and she agreed. As for the penne let’s just say it made its way to the dumpster out back. Then came the bill, I could not believe that they tried to charge me for the main course that was sent back cold that I did not touch. DO NOT GO HERE unless you like very poor food for a very outrageous price

Ram Restaurant and Brewery (140 S. Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN)8
Well we have given this restaurant a chance on four separate occasions and each time it ends up the same. As for that the food starts off decent but as you continue to eat you can tell that a majority of the appetizers taste frozen and the food itself is nothing remarkable. If its close then I would stop their but if other places are open then I would take the few extra steps and bypass.

St. Elmo Steak House (127 S. Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN)12
After hearing so much about this establishment my wife and I were really expecting an A+ meal. Instead what we received was no less than an average Steak in an overcrowded environment. As for the Shrimp Cocktail I must say that I know of five other area establishments that entertain such a cocktail that is either better or comparable at less price. For a one time event this was fine as to ever going again I can honestly say “No thank You”. In a nut shell over rated and over priced for what you get.

Claddagh Irish Pub (234 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN)10
The first thing I was struck with was the comfortableness and warmth that is projected when entering this establishment, the waiting area doubles as additional seating or you can opt to eat your meal their which makes this feel as if it someone’s den. The food thus far has been great, the mussels are the best I have ever had and the stuffed pork chops are just outstanding. When you add some fresh Guinness on tap you really have a great meal at an affordable price. Keep in mind since this is a smoking establishment children are not allowed. Even though smoking is allowed the smoke does not take over the building but rather adds to the overall relaxing environment

14 West (14 W. Maryland St., Indianapolis, IN)5
The ambiance is outstanding and reminds me of restaurants that are located in Chicago. The decor is modern but yet retains a bit of the old school charm where the bar area is located. The bone in steak is outstanding and the appetizers are very good. Their shrimp cocktail beats St. Elmo’s, the truth is it is a bit pricey but if you enter an establishment such as this it should be expected.
