We love their sushi, sashimi, and udon soup. My daughter usually won’t eat fish but eats there, saying their sushi doesn’t taste fishy.

Goin 2 eat sushi in Indy? Don’t go anywhere else! Not the over-sauced, foo-foo americanized sushi fare elsewhere. Very cravable! Go now!

Sakura & Ocean World(sister restaurants) are hands down the best places for sushi in town. Not only are the prices good, and the portions nice, but also the fish is fresh, the rolls are tight and pretty looking and it just comes down to good food. With the dinners, you get a salad with ginger sauce, miso soup, and nice combo. The udon noodles are good as well if you want something nice and hot!
Sakura has a cozy, dim atmosphere inside. The parking lot needs to be bigger, but it shows you how good it is if people are always lining up!

Been eating sushi for years! All over the place, from California to Florida. I have to say, sushi in the Midwest can be a bit dicey! Not so with this place.
Sakura is GREAT! Been to Mikado, been to Wasabi, even had sushi at Kona Jacks and Benihana. None of them compare, (except maybe the noodle house Ichiban in Castelton, but that is another review). Haven’t tried Ocean World yet. Everyone says that one is good.
Sakura has excellent everything. I have yet to be dissapointed with any of the sushi nigiri or rolls. Try to get a seat at the small bar. It really is fascinating to watch masters at work. Munch a little edamame while they prepare your favorites. It’s always fresh and extremely well prepared.
For those of you that don’t care for sushi, they make a mean teriyaki steak.

Went to Sakura Friday night, reservation was at 5pm, so got in immediately, service was GREAT. We were two adults and a five year old, I had the softshell crab roll, salmon roll, the other adult had teriyaki and the five year old enjoyed vegetable udon noodles and we all shared the Calamari appetizer. I used to go all the time with my coworkers but had never brought my family, and it was a hit. We also went to Yats that same weekend, so I got lucky twice.

I crave sushi and have tried every place in town. I had a few other favorite places to go but their service and quality of food has gone downhill — Bennihana is one of them. I have not been to Sakura in a year and decided to go back. Now it is the only place I will go. I used to just go for lunch and order one of the specials — little did I know what I was missing by not order their rolls. Every one I tried is delicious and rolled perfectly. The place is always busy so it usually hard to get a seat, esp. on the weekend …

Honestly I had never realised how off the “strip mall aisan food” was having never had the real thing. Sakura blew me away the food here is amazing and the sushi is tops. The restaraunt is a little tight inside and somewhat loud but is comfortable and not in anyway annoying.
If you want to have actual Japanese food, not a lame knokoff that deep fries biscuts from a can and calls them doughnuts, come to Sakura.

Whenever anyone would say sushi I would cringe. It just didn’t sound appetizing and the menu was always just confusing.
As soon as I started working at a company with sushi fanatics, they required that I eat sushi. And Sakura was the place they took me.
I started slow. Ya know, just eating something that looked like the sushi everyone eats, but doesn’t have fish or anything in it.
But then they exposed me to the Florida Roll. AMAZING.
I went there again today, I had one Florida Roll, Mike had two Florida Rolls, and Aaron had three Florida Rolls…. that must mean they are good!

Service can be a little slow at times…but be patient, it’s worth it!

I love sushi and I love Sakura. In my opinion, they have the best sushi in Indy and maybe beyond. The fish is fresh and the prices are very reasonable. They have a great lunch and dinner menu and a wonderful selection of al a carte sushi. The soft shell crab roll is the best I’ve had. My friends who said they were not sushi fans have since changed thier minds and are hooked! On a Friday and Saturday night you may have to wait if you go during peak dinner hours. If you don’t like to wait or are in a hurry try making a reservation or going after 8:00pm.

I stumbled upon Sakura, not knowing anything about the joint. It looked a little rough on the outside, but with a overflowing parking lot, I knew it had to be good – or at least popular. I wasn’t disappointed.
A dinner box (chicken teriyaki, tempura, soup, ice cream, california roll, rice…) can easily feed 2 people, if you add a tuna roll, and it’s cheap.
A word of warning, carry out can take an hour, so order ahead. It’s worth the wait.
