I go into Knockouts anywhere from two to three times a week. I love the atmosphere there and they always have the cheapest drinks of anywhere around. The entire staff there is very friendly and take good care of you. They have a lot of televisions for all sporting events and the music is always on point. I like a place that has a hands on owner. He is a very friendly guy and easy to talk to. Great place to go party late night or stop in and grab a bite for lunch or dinner. If you are ever on the southside I highly recommend checking out Knockout’s.

PROS: This is actually a rather clean establishment with a great billards area and a plethora of TV’s to compliment your sports fix. With the exception of one occurrence where I was lied to and told that their Coke dispenser was broke (I don’t drink), but miraculously it ended up working later in the night, the staff is very cordial and have a good work ethic. Their food is really good: Their burgers are just as good or better than anything I have ordered from Five Guys.
CONS: I realize that this really isn’t the fault of the bar as they cannot control the way their clientele is going to act once they are in there, but the younger-types that go there act like idiots. Of the handful of times I have been there, there have been near-fights and smack talking (not including me, but with others) on at least a couple of occasions. The fact is, I am in my mid-thirties and I have no desire to deal with that inane stupidity anymore. I have gone downtown to bar and grill-esque establishments far more many times than Knockouts, and not once have I encountered the same scurriouls behavior. To the credit of the bouncers at Knockouts, however, they have handled such incidents professionally and effectively.

*Plus they are not the only ones with penny beers!*

Decent place to go, usually packed with youngish crowd.
Penny Beer Wednesdays but there is a steep cover (either $5 or $10)
Not really oozing with any ambiance, just a convenient place to go drink…
