Mayor Greg Ballard today announced a partnership with Yellow Cab and Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana that aims to increase crime reporting through bumper stickers and window decals on cabs.

More than 150 Yellow Cabs will display the message of Peace in the Streets, an initiative of local faith groups to stem violence in the city, and Crime Stoppers contact information. Also, cab drivers will be encouraged to interact with riders about how to get involved in crime reporting and prevention.

Ballard said the partnership will help spread the message of public safety. “This initiative will allow us to reach out to thousands of individuals who otherwise may have slipped through the cracks,” Ballard said.
