WTF just happened? (debate)
post debate round up: biden gave us numbers and represented his running mate. palin gave us what she wanted to talk about before gwen ifell got a chance to ask about it.

Everyone I know was prepared to be highly entertained. We were not. The format didn't allow Palin to fail as spectacularly she might have. Plus, she was clearly well-prepped. Biden was obviously told to be nice and smile a lot. Fail.

The line of the night, demonstrating the disparity in substance the two are talking about, was when Palin was talking about Obama criticizing our military presence in Afghanistan. She said "Barack said 'we're just over there doing air raids and killing civilians.' We're not killing civilians...we're fighting the war on terror...we're building schools for children...blahblahblah."
In other words, Obama is focusing on specific things we're doing wrong, while she continues to tow the company line with catchphrases and appeals to emotion. Because, you know, if Obama is elected all those schools we're building for children in Afghanistan will not be built.
