World Hoop Day 08/08/08
World Hoop Day is a locally organized event that is internationally synchronized to introduce people to the possibilities of Hoop Dance. "Hula" Hooping has evolved into Hoop Dance, a thing that can only be experienced! At World Hoop Day 08/08/08 you can enjoy all that Deano's Vino in Fountain Square has to offer, as well as live local music by "The Stringtown Pickers", "Code Blue" of North Vernon, "Metamora" and perhaps local drummers who have a knack for showing up and forming a circle. Local hoopers will be performing, sharing tricks and a little instruction and encouragement to new hoopers young and old. Newcomers to Hooping can try out many different sizes of hoops. Before you think "I could never do that" try an adult sized hoop, it makes all that difference. There will be a limited amount of hoops for sale but no end to number of hoops you could order. Information about local classes or workshop opportunities will be on hand. Hooping communities are growing in our area as they already have in other cities across the nation. World Hoop Day is your opportunity to see what it's about and this year, it's Free.
This is an outdoor event, so unfortunately, if it rains this event will be cancelled.

Man, this was a great party!
Hula Hoops, people playing with fire and live music right outside a wonderful little bar.
Stringtown pickers played some "progressive-jam Bluegrass and Code Blue brought the original and classic Rock & Roll.
I believe it will happen again next year, be there!
