Teri Horton, a foul mouthed 73 year old former truck driver, buys a large painting at a thrift store for five bucks to try to cheer up her sick best friend. The canvas won't fit into her friend's home, so Teri tries to get rid of it at a garage sale since she thinks the painting is really an ugly mess. A local high school art teacher sees the painting and tells Teri it might be a Jackson Pollock. Her earthy reply to that teacher became the title for this delightful and touching documentary. Teri, who could be a Ph.D in dumpster diving if there were such a doctorate, is stubborn, inventive, salty and determined. The film chronicles her efforts to prove that her painting is a genuine Jackson Pollock canvas so that she can sell it for the estimated $50 million value if it is indeed the real thing. A forensic expert examines her painting as well as Pollock's studio and other genuine Pollock works. Pompous art "experts" dismiss the painting as a hoax. An old friend of Pollock's declares "could be real". The filmmakers expertly shift the focus from New York highbrow art world to the low down dive bar where Teri drinks with her friends to the high tech laboratory of the forensic expert.
