What was your first show
I got to thinking the other day about the first play or musical I ever attended (That was not of the school variety, but a professional company) Technically, I attended a Butler performance of the Nutcracker, but I fell asleep during it and really do not remember much of anything about it. My first theatrical experience that I was conscience for was a Footlight Musical production of Annie...My friend Julie Pollard played Molly and I was so excited to see her in the performance. I wanted to audition so badly, but my mom refused to be a Mama Rose type...so my stage career was a bit limited (until I became old enough to drive LOL) Still, my uncle Sherman and Aunt Virginia took me to the show and I had the best time! I even got to see Julie after the performance and she signed my program. To this day, Footlight has the poster from that show in the lobby.
I wondered what was the first exposure our bloggers had to the theatrical world. Was your first performance at the Lilly Theatre at the Children's Museum or did you too attend a Nutcracker show during the holiday season? Can't wait to hear your stories.
nutcracker, theater, stage, performance, Annie, Lilly, children's museum, Footlight Musical

Funny thing about growing up in a blue-collar family in small-town Indiana -- I saw lots of live music (of the bar band variety) growing up. But I don't recall attending any professional theater productions until high school. If I did, it was likely on a field trip to "the city" (i.e. Indianapolis).

Man of La Mancha was required for H.S. drama. The dude was a bit too obsessive about those windmills.
The first "professional" show that I ever saw was Cats. It was required for one of my college courses.
Man did I hate that show.
Jesus Christ Super Star at Assembly Hall at I.U.,back when folks could rock there. We did shows in school,Oklahoma,Once upon a Mattress and such but I'm from Brown County. My faorite shows were in Bean Blossom (can't recollect the first one, I was carried back then) Needmore, and on Grandpa's back porch and the occasional barn....but that's the music part.
my first big concert experience was, get this, the Rolling Stones w/ Living Colour opening - Riverfront Stadium, 1990.
my first show show was Split Lip at Pike high School @ some Amnesty International show.
First one I can remember was Faust, I think at CTS. Mostly I remember being pretty freaked out by the guy dressed as the devil.
